Forum Update

I still use MSN and the Bing platform. This is the only forum I visit with any regularity.

The server just completed a scheduled maintenance. It probably kicked everyone out so you will have to log back in. Sorry about that. Let me know if any issues with anyone, but all looks good on my end. 

I keep getting logged out when I go into forums. I can read stuff, but I have to log in to post, I do, and then it I'm back at the main menu. Go to the same forum, try to post, logged off again. Rinse and repeat. This is the first forum I've managed to access.

Did you try clearing the cache on your web browser?

Does anyone else have the same issue here?

@babooher I also cleared the cache on the server side. See if that helps at all on your end. I also did some other posts from another computer and looks fine so I hope something I did resolves your issue.

@jason weird error loading the page today - it flashed up something like "User MetherinQuest not found" or something along those lines as it disappeared quickly and left me to re-log in as myself (my username has no resemblance to Metherin). Anyway, in now and if this posts, clearly working, just never seen that error before

Forum just updated to Version 2.3.5. If anyone has any issues from this update let me know, but all looks good on my end.

Not a problem with the forum, but with the competition submission software - it seems to be swapping all the winning entries I put in every quarter with non-winning entries. Not sure if you can do something about that???

was wondering if (not essential, def not urgent) might be worth adding bluesky to the social networks possible to list on the profile? There are 8 options, some of which I've never even heard of (vkontakte?) but bluesky is adding a million users a day at the moment, including many of the writers,agents, editors in my network, so not sure if adding it might be worthwhile? I just put mine under vkontakte for now so its not like theres not work arounds if its too complicated/too much time thanks for all you do for the forum

@gideonpsmith, that sounds like a good idea. I will contact the WPForo developer and see what we can do about this.

Is there a way to jump from my unread messages to the last page of a thread? It's really petty, I know, but I get annoyed when I have to go to page 1 first... I've already read all that 😬

@marius do you click the little orange flag? That usually takes me to the unread portion, as opposed to clicking the whole thread title which takes me to page 1...

@gideonpsmith no I meant the blue 'unread messages' button on the main forum page. The bell is only for likes and replies. Or is it also for threads you're subscribed to? I guess I could subscribe to everything 🤔

Edit: nope, then I also get an e-mail every time someone posts something and my mailbox is already exploding daily

@marius so one thing you can do is click on recent posts on the top bar and then lick on the message recently posted

@marius the other thing you can do is click on the orange flags which if you hover over says "go to first unread message"

@gideonpsmith YES!! Many thanks, those are the quality-of-life shortcuts I was looking for. I almost always check the forum on my phone, I had no idea you could click the orange flags...
