I just noticed on the Locus website that Eugie had passed away, dammit. What is it with SF women? Kage Baker? KD Wentworth? Now Eugie Foster.
This passing has upset me somewhat, perhaps not as much as the passing of KD Wentworth who as WotF judge I thought about more often and who I had no idea was even ill, and yet... Eugie was too young in writer years, who knows what more she might have written, she was a year younger than me. Though I didn't know her personally I followed her on FB and we shared the TOC in an anthology on only my second sale. As the best known contributor I kind of felt honoured and grateful to appear alongside her. What can I say?

The Happy Snappy Gator Bog! Er, Blog...
I never meant here but I did follow her posts concerning her cancer on Google+. A while back it looked like they were beating it, but maybe she was just sounding optimistic. I missed some and the last one sounded not so good, but to me it didn't sound that bad.
Jim Hines did a memorial to her on his blog. She was a good person and evidently a great writer.
