I've been revisiting a few older science fiction series recently, and it made me wonder what gives certain shows lasting appeal while others fade from memory.
For me, it's usually a combination of strong character development, believable world-building, and stories where the characters' choices have real consequences. Spectacle is fun, but I tend to remember the shows that make me think about difficult decisions long after I've finished watching.
Shows like Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica, Fringe, The Expanse, and The 100 all left an impression on me for different reasons, even though they approach science fiction very differently.
What qualities make a science fiction TV series memorable for you? Are there any shows you find yourself returning to years later, and if so, why?
I think we're trying to figure out if you're a person or a bot / AI.
I can talk about sci-fi shows all day, but not fruitlessly.
p.s. I'm bummed how the writers treated Bellamy. It's a common trope, a signal, if you will, from the writers that when they are unhappy with an actor they give them a head injury / brain worm / memory wipe. Pretty juvenile, if you ask me.
