Hello I am new here but not to the universe of writing. Hoping to try my luck with the WotF contest against you seasoned sci-fi writers. I come from the land of fantasy realm, which is down the street and five blocks over. I think. -looks at a map- I think that's how I got here. ^.^

Well, first you make a left turn at Walla Walla, Washington, then you...
Sorry, couldn't help the ol' Looney Tunes humor there.

Welcome, KaiGal. And, don't worry, not all of us are seasoned Sci-Fi writers. I'm still relatively new to the scene.

Kaigal,

My winning story was fantasy. If you write fantasy, then submit that to the contest!

I can't they're too long. Besides I wrote the sci-fi, I've to fine tune it now. Anyone seen my socket set?

It's probably past time to post in this thread.

At the moment I've got a story in Q2 and art in Q3. I've got the most hope for the artwork, but will see how things go. It's been really educational reading everybody's posts on the forum. There are so many talented people here!

Hello all,

My name is Alexander and I'm from Tennessee. I've been writing privately for a couple of years and the thought occurred to me a couple of months ago to actually expand my audience of one by submitting a couple of my ideas. I'm excited about writing new stories and adapting new ones as well. I look forward to discussing topics with all of you and possibly having the opportunity to meet some of you in future workshops.

This looks like a very welcoming forum with plenty of information for new writers to come together with ideas and constructive critiquing!

Hello All,

I've been lurking off and on for a while here, but I think I'm finally going to throw my hat in the ring! I've got an SF story to submit this quarter! But I also write fantasy.

I've wanted to be a writer for my whole life, but it is really only much more recently that I decided I actually was a writer and it was time to take the next step. So, here I am. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

Hey all.

I've been writing just for myself for the last couple of years and people kept telling me that it was good. So, with much fear and trepidation I have decided to just go for it. This will be the first time that I submit anything, so I am feeling pretty stoked. Now to actually write something...

Greetings all,

Name is Jason - Have been submitting shorts steadily for a few years now... no takers yet, but still after the prize. Not that it matters a great deal - got to feed the muse and all, regardless of the outcome. I just hope that the delivery is improving. One fun fact - I live in the same state as K.D., just in a much smaller city. And yes, it is true what they say about Okies. I are one.

Welcome aboard, J Lair! Good to see another night owl on the board!

I spoke to a couple of .NET user groups in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, so I got to drive around the area for a while. That was some pretty country!

I am primarily a w/e night owl, and I pay for it dearly, for I have three kids below the age of 6 who will be waking in a few hours and asking for their breakfast. Ahh, the sacrifices we make for the craft. Glad to here you've visited. OKC and Tulsa are the biggest cities. I live in a very small community on the verge of Arkansas (Fort Smith). In short, I live where there are hills and valleys. Trees are plentiful and the lake is just around the corner.

Hey all! Been coming to the forum for some time now. Finally, joining up! :)

Welcome, D.J.! And how was your sign in experience? Brad (the administrator) has been tweaking it to try to keep spambots out, and he has been looking for feedback for how it's working for real people.

(I assume for the moment that you're a real person, and not the world's most clever spambot...)

Definitely not a spam bot :)

Unless I'm a spam bot that has become self-aware? Hmmm...can't prove that.

Sign-in experience was not a problem at all. Loved the way to sort out the bots (Writers vs. Artists list)! Ingenious.
