Welcome aboard, Francois! You have 5 months for Q1. You can do it!

LOL. Assuming my Colonel lets me and Joni answers a niggling question about eligibility I just twigged on.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome.

Hi guys,
I just entered the writers comp for the first time in Q2.

Kary kindly pointed me in the direction of these boards, so I thought I'd say hello and share in the common agony of waiting for competition results to be announced.

I'll keep the intro short, however I've seen there's loads of great discussions on here to mingle in that scope beyond the actual competition.

Look forward to chatting with you all!

Darren

Welcome to Darren, Matt, Scott, Gio, and Francois! Did I forget anyone?

I feel highly suspicious that at least one of you knows more about Q2 than you have let on in your intros. We'll see if I'm right in the next couple days...

Where's a shifty eyed smiley when I need it??

You mean someone might learn his story was a Finalist, do some web research, stumble upon Brad's blog, follow it over here, join the crowd, wait to tell everyone his good news, and then hang around blathering like a drunken party guest who can't find his way home?

Nah, that would NEVER happen...

Alas, I know nothing more than what's been posted on the boards. I'm patiently waiting (not really.....), hoping for the best. One particular hope is I get some form of response before Thursday, when I go on 2 weeks vacation with little to no access to the Internet, zero access to my home phone.

Darren! Glad you made it. He was all lonely 'n stuff over on Twitter, so I sent him this-a-way.

Brownies, cucumber sandwiches, marshmallows and tequila are down in the Jibber Jabber threads. Forum anxiety is a tad high at the mo' given the results sitch, so things are a little more...colorful... than usual.

*snorts water up nose* You're right. THAT has NEVER happened on here before Smile
Aren't we all just drunken awkward party guests? Brad probably will call the cops soon to shoo us all out of here.

I'm just going to sit in the rocking chair in the corner and make goggly eyes at Kary. My rocking chair squeaks while I glance at all the new members.

Man, wish I'd paid more attention in psychoanalysis when I got my counseling degree.

Methinks the Q2 Jibber Jabber thread has sprung a leak, and it's pouring into other threads...

Might I suggest that for your speech you simply repeat the Declaration of Independence, but with all the words in the reverse order.

Remember three key points. Then wing it, as long as you get those three key points into your speech. It's up to you to decide what they should be, but just remember those.

No. Better idea: Confess to Brad I came up with his famous middle name then scream out: "Mother Freakin' Ghost Pigs"

ETA: Martin had a good point. I'll need to address three points, so I'll thank Mother Hubbard like Kary suggested a few months ago when she attend the awards ceremony for Yahoo News.

Ok now I'm really going to get off here, before I derail the Intro thread for Gosh sakes, not the Intro thread, Tina!!

Hi Kary/ Martin

I'm afraid if Kary knows something she's not letting on! My anxiety levels are way up already... and this is my first entry! I remember getting a confirmation email but can't seem to find it now. I'm wondering whether - as I submitted on 31st March - it somehow got put into 3rd quarter contest...???

Congratulations on making finalist, Kary. I downloaded First Call and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Right, I'm off back to the Jibber Jabber thread. A bit early for a cucumber sandwich... but I could sure do with a tequila wotf004

No worries, Darren--it seems like a few people never got the Q2 confirmation e-mail and still got results. wotf008

Hello everybody,
My name is Alberto and I sent my first submission ever to the contest for Q3 V.29.
I heard about the contest last year and have since bought V.27 & V.28 which I enjoy very much.
I've only posted twice in the past in the "Problems with E-Submitting" thread to share my (so far) perfectly good experience of submitting for the first time online.
And I have to say I'm very impressed with everyone's background as continuous honorable mentions and finalists as well as winners.
🙂
