Writers & Illustrators of the Future Forum
ANTI-HARASSMENT POLICY

The Writers & Illustrators of the Future Contests are committed to ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all participants in both Contests which includes this Forum as well as any other activities, meetings, or events associated with the Contests.

We expect all participants in the Forum to abide by this Anti-Harassment Policy.

  • Exercise consideration and respect in your posts and comments.
  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, harassing, or threatening behavior in comments.
  • Be mindful of your fellow Forum members.
  • Alert Forum moderators if you notice a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or violations of the Anti-Harassment Policy, even if they seem inconsequential.

Unacceptable behavior on the Forum includes:

  • Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning posts or comments by any member;
  • Posting or sharing hateful or vilifying sites or blogs;
  • Harmful or prejudicial written comments or visual images;
  • Real or implied threat of physical harm;
  • Real or implied threat of professional or financial damage or harm. In relation to, but not limited to: Race, Age, Religion, Color, Sexual orientation, Citizenship, National origin, Body size, Pregnancy, Gender, Gender identity or Disability.

 
Actions which violate our Anti-Harassment policy are not allowed.

These rules will be enforced by Forum Moderators. The first infraction will receive a warning. The second infraction will result in the violating member having their membership terminated. However, obvious spammers and those sharing defamatory information against Forum members, or against entities or individuals affiliated with Writers of the Future, will have their membership terminated without warning, as determined by Forum Moderators.

Listened to Wulf Moon on the Writers of the Future podcast tonight. I believe he said he hasn't had to terminate any memberships (that weren't bots Smile ).

I've certainly always found people here on the forum to be polite and respectful. I strive to come across the same way.

Thanks for listening, Scott! There’s some important info for writers in that last interview I did with John, and I’m glad you caught it. As for my comments on the Forum, since that interview we did have to remove one member. No questions on that, please.

It’s a good moment to thank all of you for the positive spirit promoted here. Negative speech that tears others down, as well as speaking ill of the WIotF Contest, its representatives, and its judges will not be tolerated. Every group has rules, and membership is conditional to following them. Everyone is reminded to review and abide by them when they join. They’re simply about being decent and kind to one another. We can all benefit from more of that in our world.

@wulfmoon I agree with @scott_m_sands. So far all my experiences here have been positive. This is the first place I found honest but polite feedback along with helpful tips for improving.

Up to now, my experinces here have all been favorable. This is the initial platform where I've received candid yet honest feedback, coupled with useful advice for enhancement.

I appreciate the continuous provision of this valuable resource.
