If you're on there, I'd love to see your work. Here's my profile link:

I'm a writer at heart, but I do like to paint (digitally) from time to time.

I have a deviantART account I haven't touched in ages. I'm nowhere near good enough to enter the Illustrator's contest, but I am a huge fan of art in general. Smile

If you are in difficulties with a book, try the element of surprise: attack it at an hour when it isn't expecting it. ~ H.G. Wells
If a person offend you, and you are in doubt as to whether it was intentional or not, do not resort to extreme measures; simply watch your chance and hit him with a brick. ~ Mark Twain

I'm not on DeviantArt... But I am on ArtStation:

It's an intimidating place to be ... but it gives me a lot to aspire to!

I do have accounts in a few places online, but rarely ever update then or work on them. I realised long ago, unless you are lucky enough to have a lot of money to be able to hire someone to help you post and update accounts everywhere, it is not worth it. Wasting time on social media platforms means you spend most of your time worrying about how people think of your art, above actually doing things in life that actually matters- like going out, snapping pictures of flowers, or climbing a mountain. Therefore, focusing on one or two platforms at the most, is acceptable. Deviant Art, mmm... It is great for starting out. But after that, sign up to one of the other platforms to learn more if you need to, like ImagineFX, or Artstation etc. Aspire to be the best and learn from the best, and you will be the best. Do not limit yourself, even if you feel you do not deserve to be on some platforms. Just do it. There are millions of artists out there, but just find something you are comfortable with doing. Like me, I simply enjoy characters. Smile So, usually, that is my focus. I haven't sold one piece yet, and frankly, I have not tried. In the end, just creating art, is good enough for me. typing

What are the benefits of Deviant art?

I have not used it myself. I do have art on Fine Art America and Designs by Humans and while I don’t really make sales there yet I mostly consider it ground work for a platform that will have value after I get a professional career in art fully launched. Sort of like building the infrastructure before launching a business. And in the meantime I can use them to print my own art for myself and family Smile

But are there other unique benefits to Deviant art? Is it more helpful for art community or sales?(I’ll have to go explore it a bit)
