Very informative!  Thank you. 

Jody describes the process of story selection well.  I'm curious how she maintains anonymity.  If I understand correctly from the interview, she is the individual who replaces author names with a number, but it sounds like she is *also* picking 32 stories to ultimately go to the judges for final review.  Am I misunderstanding that?  I would think a non-judge administrator would be replacing author names with numbers before the slushers even got to read a story and that even Jody would not have ready access to the author names.

You’re confusing Jody Lynn Nye (the judge) with Joni Labaqui (the contest administrator). Jody never sees the names, only Joni.

@martin-l-shoemaker Thanks, I thought I must have misunderstood.  They mentioned Joni a couple times.  It sounds similar to Jody.

It’s a common confusion. When you get to the workshop, you’ll learn to enunciate carefully.
