Board PHP problems

Is it just me?
I'm having board trouble.
There's PHP notices up top, which haven't affected me until I tried to check on a PM.
I couldn't read it, but I did a cntrl+A and copy/pasted to a blank document then was able to read it.

Here's one of the errors I receive:

There's a new board version out. 3.13.
This one seems to be 3.0 or earlier.

It's updated for security patches and phone/tablets. I like it, mostly. Some cool new features like the avatars that appear more often and in fun places, but it's not quite as easy to navigate by phone.

Still, the security patches alone are worth the upgrade. And it should be free, unless this is commercial PHPbb, but even then it should be part of the package...

It's not just you. I see them too. The assistant moderators have had no training on this, so we may have to Summon the Brad!

Update: Email to Joni and others at Author Services is bouncing. We admins still have rights to delete spammers and spammy posts (as Facebook calls them), but our admin panel is blocked. It looks like they're having larger server issues, and this is a symptom. Kary has a call in to Joni to check on progress. We'll keep you informed.

I've reported to Joni, but she's non-technical. PHP means nothing to her. Maybe Brad has a contact with the hosting company.

I know this isn't pretty, but I find it comes and goes, so refreshing the page sometimes makes it go away.

It should be in the phpBB code, although I don't know why it would suddenly malfunction. So, maybe it's server side if they changed the way it reads php?

I know just enough to get myself in trouble.

But I bet an upgrade of the phpBB software would do the trick. Maybe that's something the host would do, but back it up yourself before letting them try.

I can't! Simultaneous with these problems, we lost our rights to the Administrator Panel. We can still administer posts and users, but no power admin features.

I tried to search for an author from the main page yesterday and got a Red Hat Linux error, so there may be other issues on the server.

Back in my troubleshooting days, our first question was always "What changed?".
Given the forum is in its own subfolder, I doubt anything changed, without having been uploaded. Which is why the errors are so bizarre.
However, if there's an error with the core Linux, then it may simply be that the board is no longer compatible with the OS running the whole of the WotF site.

In which case the PHP software would need to be updated. (I'm sensing a theme here.)

I think you're on the right track. Now we just need to reach someone who can do the tech work.

I'm having this problem as of the last few days, trying to get into my private messages. I can't read them at all right now, and those same error messages in the original post are at the top of the screen.

Exactly. Joni and the Three Deputies are all occupied, and Brad is preparing for deployment. But Kary showed Joni the problems, and Joni made a note to get with the hosting company.

Interesting... I'll have to play around with browsers.

Also, I can read messages from some forumites, and can't read messages from other forumites. I haven't done a formal experiment or anything, but it almost seems to be tied to *who* is messaging me.

I'm seeing similar PHP Notice messages to what Dustin posted. They show up in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. I'm able to write PMs, but they sit in the outbox for a long while without getting sent. One of my PMs has been stuck in the outbox for the past 17 hours.

Edit: Some of the PMs got sent while others did not.

From what I understand, the message sits in your outbox until the person you sent it to reads it.

So I have a PM but it's just not readable. The "window" it appears in is tiny with no ability to scroll down. Or reply to it. Or anything.
