So I notice the people like Martin have nice, pretty clickable-text hyperlinks in their signature. And after two days of futzing, I can't get mine to be anything more than just text.
So what's teh sekrit? I've tried code and I've tried the url button. I've tried making it look (and function) how I want it in a live webpage, then doing copy/paste on the code and it doesn't work.

The url code should work. Perhaps you have too many lines in your sig? Then it would be ignored.

Someone recently did a URL and included quotation marks. I know that fails; but you didn't do that.
