Here's the situation. I'm just trying to figure out what's going on and whether or not my story is currently submitted, or if it ever made it in or not.

In December I set up my profile to submit a story, but it wasn't ready and I did not submit anything. I did not receive any confirmation e-mails.

Then on March 2nd and again on March 16th, I received two separate auto reject e-mails from Joni for quarter one.

Now, I did submit my story on January 8th, and received a confirmation e-mail on January 9th. That entry would be for quarter two right? I'm just trying to figure out whether my story made it through, and if so whether it was entered in quarter two or what happened. I sent Joni an e-mail a while ago about it, but never heard back so I'm guessing it drowned in spam or something.

A January 8 submission would be Quarter 2, yes. Since there are obviously still some bugs in the system, I'd assume that it sent out rejection letters to the non-entries as well. Since the Quarter 2 deadline is also passed, there's not much else to do except get your Quarter 3 entry in shape.

Do try to be patient. We're roughly one month out from the workshop and gala in Los Angeles and Joni is busier than ever. I spoke with her today, and she knows she's behind on the blog and behind on getting people responses to their stories. When in doubt, there is no harm sending a polite reminder to joni at [email protected] and asking if she can confirm which quarter specifically the story was entered into, and whether or not there are any results on it yet.

Hope this helps. My best advice is, if you're spending a lot of time fretting over a past entry, that's a great time to redouble your efforts on your current soon-to-be entry.

Watched kettles never boiling, and all that.
