er-yes. I tried to post some smilies from the view more smilies menu, but I can't. I just get a screen with all the smilies, and the message window disappears, and there is no way to go back to it or, for that matter, no way to select the smilies. My CPU is also in distinct disagreement with the smiley-menu. If you need to know this, I use IE9.

Hmmmm, are you using tabbed browsing, or is your browser set up to open new windows on each link click? You should be able to click VIEW MORE SMILIES and see the full available set, click one, then close the smilies menu and see an alphanumeric code inserted into your message.

For people with the same problem:

The 'view more smilies' link opens the set of smileys twice. Once in the original window, once in a new window. Keep the new window, but press 'back' on the original window (you now have your message entry window back). Then toggle between the new window and the message entry window. When you press a smiley in the new window, it inserts the code in the message entry.

Duh. I think the new (small) window is meant to open on top, and open without changing the message entry window. It's not doing that in my computer.

Some of these were long ago scavenged by me -- for a different forum. Some of these are custom. Glad you like the added options. I rather like smilies. They lend a bit of fun to any forum.
