So does anyone have a clue what the dhoom scammer is up to?
Last Friday, new user dhoom made their first post: a nonsense comment on a three-year-old thread about 9-11:
There's probably some general privacy rules. If nothing else, it'd probably be impolite for me to call them out with their name on the forum. xD And I prefer to be polite.
Today, new user dhoom3 (but signature is just "dhoom") made THEIR first post: a repeat of two paragraphs from KD earlier in a five-year-old thread. Besides the blatant disrespect for our late judge, it made no sense.
If this were on the same account, I would assume dhoom was some scammer trying to establish a credible presence before posting spam links. But two separate accounts puzzles me.
My next guess is some spammer testing out the defenses preparatory to a wave of spam links.
Any other guesses? Hey, dhooooooooooooom, do you care to comment?

Yeah... That was weird.
Possibly they wanted people to think they were a judge? Not everyone on the internet has motives that make sense and a lot of people just enjoy attention.
Maybe they're hoping that we'll click on the many links in their sig?
Who knows.

Although, actually, on second thought, maybe their evil plan is just to fill our heads with the "Doom! Doom!" line from Moria in LotR. Because that's definitely what's stuck in my head now. =P

Dhoom, Dhoom 2, and Dhoom 3 are actually Bollywood movies, and oddly enough, there is often a strong element of disguise and misdirection in them.
