Living Rooms! Good choice! One of the most original fantasies I have read in years.

"Living Rooms" was particularly good.

Agreed. And I thought she was working on a novel length story around that premise? Though I could be wrong, it was two years ago we chatted about writing at Worldcon. Many times I have slept since then.

Mike and Shahid (the publisher) worked hard to make that deal come together. They even have a still from the film incorporated into the cover. Nice work!

Might I add that - despite having a small budget - it is a top-notch adaptation of the short story. I was very impressed.

According to an announcement by Galaxy's Edge's publisher, Mike has been nominated for a Hugo for best editor. By my count, that makes 37 nominations. I might add that second place is far behind.

In a previous edition of Galaxy's Edge, Joy Ward interviews the directors of "Predestination," a movie adaptation of Heinlein's "All You Zombies," which is also reprinted in Galaxy's Edge. Just bought and watched a DVD of "Predestination," starring Ethan Hawk. The directors say, "There's never been a time travel story like this one and never will be." Hard to argue with that.

No editorial by Mike Resnick in the current issue. I can't get enough of Mike's editorials and columns. Editorials/columns by other people, in any genre and any context, put me to sleep. Mike's are just mesmerizing. If he ever tries to stop, the fans will handcuff him to a chair at every convention til he supplies their monthly allotment.

For those of you who like sci fi humor, check out "From the Moment I Laid Eggs in You." At first, it was a bit silly, so I was tempted to stop reading. But as the story progressed, it developed genius upon genius. Sci fi humor stories are a rare species and good ones are even rarer. So this is a real treat.

"From the Moment I Laid Eggs in You" is only 700 words. I've done a lot of flash pieces, but no comedies. Is a flash sci fi humor story easier to write than a longer one?
