Well there's no languishing in submission limbo at Lightspeed. Got the rejection two days after submitting. The guidelines say you can submit one piece every seven days, so maybe I'll line up for more punishment in a few days.

I am finalizing a short story to submit too- it will be my first rejection letter! (Yay? Yay!) Glad to hear the turnaround is as quick as promised, it's the wait that will kill you.

Seems like it might include Urban Fantasy, which is good. Does anyone know how long the fantasy submissions are open for? I have a story that will be out for crit until the first week of May.
Only this month I'm afraid, till Apr 30. Though I'd aim for Apr 29--when Nightmare (JJA's other magazine) said they were open 15 Feb - 15 Mar, they closed at 00:01 on 15 Mar and caused much consternation...

Thanks Matt, that is useful info to know.

If you are in difficulties with a book, try the element of surprise: attack it at an hour when it isn't expecting it. ~ H.G. Wells
If a person offend you, and you are in doubt as to whether it was intentional or not, do not resort to extreme measures; simply watch your chance and hit him with a brick. ~ Mark Twain

Good to know. If Analog or Asimov's kicks my subs back before the window closes, I'll retool and resubmit! Thanks for sharing.
