@doctorjest that's what it says in their guidelines. You never know how bad things are I suppose.
Having been on the wrong end of life's unfairness I'll keep trying them. Hopefully they'll get to rights again.

I agree. It really seems that they’re trying to straighten things up, but illness is getting in the way.
And I also realized that editors are often sick with very serious diseases, maybe more than other professions. Maybe that’s caused by overwork combined with the fact that a lot of them have day-jobs. I see magazines going into hiatus because of that more often than not. Neil Clarke almost died while editing Clarkesworld.

You're basically donating your work to charity. I didn't notice if they're taking reprints...
@DonMarkmaker
Lezli Robyn, editor of Galaxy's Edge just posted an email to me, and I assume all writers with a story pending, saying they're on the mend and hope to dig back into the slush (my words)

I didn't reply, I feel like they don't need to be digging through thank-you notes, but I was very impressed and wished them well.
@DonMarkmaker
@angelslayah I have a story under consideration and I didn't get an e-mail. Maybe that's an indication yours has a bigger chance of publication?

I doubt it. I imagine the effort to even send out all these notes turned out to be too much.
There's still been no motion there. The Subgrinder says: No activity since June 14.
It may be that this spells the end of that publication. Let's hope not!

@craydimensional they're closed again now but I managed to submit yesterday.
They've been a bit hit and miss with their sub portal lately.
The guidelines says their editor is working on finishing what they have by August. Or that's how I read it.
I've just been checking the subs portal each Tuesday in hope.

I've just been checking the subs portal each Tuesday in hope.
If I understand the guidelines correctly the portal opens at noon on Tuesday and closes when a set number of entries has been received, then it closes until the next Tuesday. So have something ready for the next opportunity and submit as soon as possible.

I keep thinking, the moment I complain about it, the dam will burst, the river flow again. Now I'm actually going to complain about it to TRY TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN.
The turnaround at Analog has been essentially STUCK since Sept 13. And me exactly at the logjam. I can't TELL you how it triggers my "high hopes" reflex to be at 100 days on a mag that averages 76 on the turnaround, and for NO REASON. It's got me doin magic thinking ferpetesake which I avoid like the plague.
Let this little bit of rainmaking break the spell so I can get on with my dingdong life already!
