And I'm out in the final round for Pain. Dangit.
Me too, alas.
Me three. Though I haven't sent mine anywhere else yet. It's wracked up some travel time that one. And I think my most rejected before selling is currently 16. I've had a few hit that number so it's almost my lucky number now. (I'd prefer 2, but take what I can get.)

I was just ready to put in a sub for the Paranormal issue, but I've been up and down and over the Penumbra site and I can't seem to find the editor's name. Which is weird, I must be missing something. Ah well.
Can anyone help me out with that?

That's what tripped me up. I didn't know there was more than one site.

I knew that Penumbra would toss out my little Lewis Carroll story in round one because it is most unlikely that its topical references will be widely understood in the US. (Not much reason for them to be unless by Euro-specialists.)
Anyway I have reduced its length by half and published it on my blog since it isn't too likely to be published anywhere else now. So if anyone is interested. You know.

Anyone want to trade Arthurian Legends? Mine's about 3000 words. (Doesn't have to be that theme. Will read whatever you have.)
HL Fullerton
I'm out for Lewis Carroll and in for Paranormal Adventures. I don't know much about Arthurian Legends, but the next theme has been a popular sf trope since forever: Aliens! I might give that a go. Then maybe I'll tackle Arthurian Legends.

I'm in for Paranormal. This is only the second time I'm submitting to Penumbra a story not specifically written for their call, but I think it fits the theme nicely. I hadn't even thought about it, but it was conveniently rejected yesterday and as I was browsing my lists of markets to decide where to send it next I realized there's a nice coincidence. So let's see what happens.

So...I know you've all moved on to either waiting on Paranormal responses or working on Aliens, but my story made it into the LC issue. Yay!
(This is my third Penumbra sale so it's sure to be charming, right?)

HL, we are going to run out of superlatives.
Getting into Penumbra is tough (I have apparently made the last round three times.) Getting in three times makes you officially an ace!
So I am going to resume my assault on their defences. I'm in for Aliens. We'll see if I can get close this time.

I'm out for Paranormal, but then, this one was a long shot. Ah well, off to the next market!

I wish I'd been able to get in for Paranormal, but the story I wanted to sub came back from being second rounded at another market about two days late. My new plan, since it's a Halloween-y story full of pumpkin-y goodness is to get it ready for self-publishing, to be available in October.
Good luck to anybody still in consideration for the Paranormal issue!

Sorry to hear about that Preston. My computer was attacked by a virus at exactly the right time to have me scrambling to get my story transmitted. Didn't happen. At least I have a paranormal story to shop around.
Now let's get our alien stories in and try to make a showing for the forum like hlf is doing.
Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the condolences, Storysinger. I had high hopes for that one. But yeah, let's get those aliens to take over! I'm thinking this is going to be a popular theme, but I've got a really good one to enter. It won an HM and has made it to the final or second round of several mags, so I have really high hopes for this one.
Which probably means I'll get a straight reject.
