Woohoo! Yes! It's that time.

250 word limit, by the way. I have mine written and am now trimming it to fit. wotf007

Those interested in this may also want to hit up the AE Micro contest, which is open until March with a theme of "degrees": http://aescifi.ca/index.php/non-fiction ... ae-micro-6

Thanks for this. I've been meaning to get back into flash and this was a fun challenge. I've just submitted my entry.

From reading this advice to submitting entry was, I guess, well under two hours. We'll see! wotf007

I wrote one without realising I only had a few hours left to submit. Missed it 🙁

Greed, that's what it is. Anyway I didn't see any rule saying you can't win twice so I decided to have another go at AE Micro. I love the challenge of this 200 word limit. wotf013

Two years ago this was my first ever sale. And they're very nice with beginners if anyone in that category is unsure about entering. Go for it!

I missed out on the string of ten. By the time I knew about it I had less than half a day then went off and did other things so no story.

But I should be able to come up with something for the other one. I sent in something last year, I believe. It didn't get very far of course but still I could try again.

I didn't even realize they sent out responses before they announced it on the web page. But I guess that makes sense, given that they use Submittable.

I'm still hanging in there so far. (I had worried they might disqualify me for using "coastal" but I guess it still counts as derivative of "coast" after all. Phew. Er, and apparently I had a "Coast" in there as well so I guess never mind.)

Everybody entered the AE contest yet? I still need to get my entry written for that...

I made it to the finals. A little salve for my big "R" in the last WOTF round.

I am a noob, please elaborate. AE contest, is that the AE Coppard prize for fiction, and does it still require a $15 entry fee? I believe I saw this on-line. If this is correct the contest rules have no restrictions on style, method, or subject matter, what do you translate that to mean? The way I read the meaning is that detailed violence, erotica, etc... are accepted (although I do not have any stories like that). Am I correct? <Edited> My error, did not read the link above.

Stewart means AE, The Canadian Science Fiction Review Micro contest which closed on 2nd March. It's an annual competition to write a 200 word flash story on a given theme word.

You can however send them your short stories at any time and sometimes they even publish them. (See my story 'Spatchcock' below.)
