Congrats Dustin and George. I got George's Unsung Story in my email this morning. It was a fun read.
Thanks, Aaron!

I have a new milestone to report: I was just interviewed for the first time, for my cough 26th story. The story is sci-fi humor piece called, "No Good Deed," and is published in Alternate Hilarities 5: One Star Reviews of the Afterlife. It's my fifth story published this year. I'm on a roll! Wheee! Here's the link if you want to check it out:

I have a maybe success and a definite success. Happy day...
The maybe success is that DSF is holding one of my stories for consideration, and I am not at all patient in hearing back from them. They said it may be a whole extra month before they make the final decision.
The definite success is that Perihelion Science Fiction accepted one of my stories!! I don't know when the publication date is or basically anything else, but the story is accepted!!
Also, I'm in a Doctor Who mood if you can't tell...

Way to go, Emily! Perihelion is great to work with.
Also, Preston, you're killing things! Congratulations on all the successes.
If I missed anybody else in here, congratulations to you, too! May the forum spread its successful awesomeness across the writing world!

Whoa, Emily! Top stuff! And congrats to Preston, as well, and let's be honest probably to George who always has something here. I've missed a couple of weeks on here. I don't know where I'm at.
You know what: congrats to everyone. You're all awesome, whether you've sold recently or not.
On a related note *cough* the Kickstarter for the No Sh!t, There I Was anthology is currently live, featuring mine & Stewart's ludicrously titled collaboration and a story from Rachael K Jones as well. It's basically WotF32 volume 2, and it's only $5 for the ebook version, and you should totally back it.

Congrats Emily!
Thanks, all. I wouldn't have gotten anywhere without you fine folks...that's the honest truth.
And congrats, Emily. Acceptance feels good, doesn't it?

It's hard to describe how delighted I am to receive an acceptance from Cosmic Roots & Eldritch Shores.
<img src="
I'm doubly delighted because this is a story about the Gododdin, the old people who lived in Sliabh Mannan before me. I'm pretty sure I made it up, but the events have now melded so inextricably with the surrounding landscape that I cannot help thinking Yes, this is where that happened.
Of course when our characters tell us a story about the past it does tend to become historical truth as far as we, as writers, are concerned. I sometimes can't understand how no-one else seems to know until I tell them the story of how it happened.

Congrats Philip! We can totally hang out as ToC mates now. If they ever actually publish mine, mind you, it's been listed on the front page at the top of their "Coming Soon" list for 7 weeks now...

Thanks everyone. I am, as we used to say, chuffed to bits. I can no longer remember why we used to think it was a good thing to be in such a state.
Matt, having waited over a year since acceptance by two outfits and almost a year since another, I believe I may have acquired a certain patience when it comes to publication. However, since this will be my third professional short story I shall be teetering on the edge of pro'ing out once it appears. As a former jockey, I can say I have passable balance, but I'd better win WotF soon!

OK, I'm here again. I think I've become addicted to this thread.
This time I wanted to announce that "Harnessing Hotters" has just been podcast at Manawaker Studio's FFP and you can actually listen to it here.
I can only say that it was thrilling to listen to my story being recited.
