I just noticed that my Nature story has been translated into German:
Spectrum.deNot a new sale, but I think it's cool that something I wrote has been translated.
I am so far behind here. Congratulations to HL, Emily, Beth, Aaron, Philip . . . did I miss a George and a Preston or anybody else? Congratulations everybody!
I also just learned that I had a Nature story translated, mine into Arabic. It's so pretty! Ice and White Roses in Arabic
On another front, I have a flash story out at Every Day Fiction today: Safe Word.

I thought it'd be appropriate to post it here, but with the publication of my story "The Minotaur's Wife" in Galaxy's Edge today, I am officially pro'd out of the contest. Technically, I have two more chances to win, since I have a story in Q3 and Q4, but I cannot submit anymore new stories.
For the record, I submitted thirty times in a row and recieved 10 HMs, 1 SHM, and 2 Semi-Finalists. Two stories are pending.
While I didn't win--and don't expect to win with my final two stories--I'm grateful to the contest for introducing me to so many wonderful people. Above all, that's been the most important thing that I got out of submitting for so long, and will continue to benefit from going forward.
Thank you all and good luck with your submissions.

Congrats on proing out! And, hey, two quarters is nothing to sneeze at. Good luck either way!

Tom, congrats and commiserations. 30 is a respectable number and an indication of consistency. I know I'll see you around the interwebs, but still going to wish you luck with your writing and publishing.

Proing out is an excellent way to part ways with the contest.
Congrats on your latest sale.
Same goes for George and Rebecca and everyone else with a recent story out, posted above or not:

Congrats for proing out, Tom! You've still a couple of chances to win the contest but even if you don't, don't worry 'cause many great writers never did. Winning the contest is great for a lot of reasons, but proing out is even harder.
Thanks, HL!
And, as those of you following Galaxy's Edge thread already know, my story and Martin's are out there with Tom's too

Who are these people who say Stupefying Stories never gets round to publishing you? Let them stand up and come forth, I say! Yea! Come the four corners of the world in arms and we shall shock them!
Very well. Enough said. By way of proof I offer All of the People, All of the Time a short story by yours truly written so long ago that its origins are lost in the mists of time.
Any resemblance between this story and the sort of stuff I write nowadays is quite similar to the resemblance provided by my recent story in Sci Phi Journal which also rested on the launching pad until the gantry rusted.
Nevertheless - a story in print is a story in print. This is either number ten or number eleven depending on whether you count the podcast by Gallery of Curiosities. These days publication takes so many weird and wonderful forms that I count everything I get. Of course, you all know me, I'd do that anyway.

Congrats! I love the ending on this one. I'm also pleased to hear Stupefying Stories is publishing again. Maybe they'll get to my story in due course...
