Great story, Sataris. Vivid, poignant and incredibly creative. Can see why it won a silver!

I'm happy to announce I have a fun story in a fun anthology that just came out last week: The Church of Raw in Thuggish Itch: Scientific. The story was a quirky early WOTF rejection that I still really liked, but was a poor fit for most markets, so I've been shopping it around for a couple of years. This was its 25th submission, so I'm happy to have finally found it a good home!

I put my first published story, 'A Matter of Interpretation,' up on my website today. Feel free to peruse at your leisure.

Congrats on your publication! It was a good read. Was this one of the stories you previously submitted to Wotf?
Congrats on your publication! It was a good read. Was this one of the stories you previously submitted to Wotf?
Actually, no. I wrote it specifically for submission to the Heroic Fantasy collection, expecting to submit it to WotF after it got rejected--and then it got accepted, and I was equal parts excited and confused.
My finalist story was a sequel of sorts to this one, although I have yet to find a market for it.

I made my first pro sale!
Woman's World, A US tabloid that can be found in the racks at the checkout lines of better supermarkets, will publish my mini-mystery "The Hockey Card Heist" in their March 14th issue.
I also sold a time travel story to Wildside Press' upcoming Crime Travel anthology. It's hard to be upset at a sale, but now I'm kicking myself for not sending it to WOTF. New rule: Every SF/Fantasy story gets submitted to the contest first.
