Finally, I've got the green light. I'm so excited to say that my story, Exis Memoria, has been accepted for publication in Nature Futures.

No details yet (contract just signed) and it will take some time, but I can't wait to share it when it's finally published.

Nothing to do with writing but I'm claiming it as a success all the same.

I'm a grandad again. Eldest daughter just had a baby boy an hour ago.

I think I forgot to post this... probably as it's microfiction and I'm not sure if that qualifies for this thread, but posting about it goes along with my philosophy of celebrating every win, no matter how small!

Available free, my microfiction in Stupefying Stories. 150 word limit, and had to use the prompt "The off-season" somewhere in the story. This is what I did with that:

great story, thanks for sharing!

I got the impression reading it this is probably part of a wider universe in which you may have set other stories or future ones? Lots of worldbuilding and references to off-the-page events like the Confinement war, but you skillfully kept this story complete by it being so tightly in Exis POV! clapper

So true! Well not at the time I wrote it. It was my first attempt at short sci-fi. Now, I have two other stories in edit phase in that world. I've been fiddling with them for months, but they are much longer (5 to 7k). I like that world a lot, and it has so much potential for expansion.

Many thanks again *hug*

My story "For Everyone's Benefit" has been accepted for publication in Black Cat Weekly!  It's quite bizarre.  I've received 5 rejections in a row from WOTF and have now sold 3 of the stories.  I'd like to do both, but if I have to choose between a certificate and a sale, I'm going with the latter.

Very delighted to say that my first SF from WOTF has been accepted by The Future Fire magazine! It feels super poetic that this story(my first ever submission/success in WOTF) will also be my first publication ever.
