Success!

I sold the story I wrote for Mirror Shards 2 also, so I'll be joining you all in the ToC.

It's my 12th short story sale.

I just sold my first story!!! Yay!

*Clears throat* Ok, back into business mode. Now, I too have a story slated for inclusion in Tom's second volume of Mirror Shards. I wrote it specifically for the anthology, so I'm thrilled he liked it.

Can I add my little guy to yours Marina, as I will join you on the TOC!

I also wrote specifically for Mirror Shards Volume2, and it is my first short fiction sold, so I am rapt to be included. Much yay all around!

So I take it yours was the 236 day acceptance just posted to Duotrope?

You know, when Dean and others taught me the whole "WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! / SUBMIT! SUBMIT! SUBMIT! SUBMIT! SUBMIT! / REPEAT! REPEAT! REPEAT! REPEAT! REPEAT! / Patience. Patience. Patience. Patience. Patience." mantra, nobody ever mentioned quite how long "Patience" might take. I knew it meant patience in terms of "Just keep trying, and just keep writing"; but I hadn't realized just how long an acceptance or a near miss could take. It's starting to look to me like getting really close and maybe breaking through can take a long time at some markets.

All the more reason to write a whole lot more: your best work can be sitting in the Maybe Pile for a long time, so write an even BETTER best work!

WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! etc.

Guess who may end up being an Associate Member of SFWA real soon...

Found out yesterday that my short story "Moonbound" will be appearing in ThunderDome Magazine sometime in the next couple weeks. Will check back when the story goes live on their website.
