=) I am behind on updating my website, my web company changed to some offshoot and sent me a new startup packet a few months ago. Once I get all the info again I'll be able to update again. Then you can see the newer works I've been up to.
Watch me, I understand I am powerful, now see what I become when I am focused and truely understand myself......
Thank you all for the congrats =) Best wishes to you all in your own pursuits! Fun times, fun times...

My newest story now available, titled "What Makes You Tick" and published by Brain Harvest:

It's the shortest story I've published to date, and is the first to be available as free text.

Congrats, Dave!
Okay, that was delightfully twisted.
And I wasn't aware of that market before. Pro rates, cool. Now to see what I can squeeze into 750 words.

A twisted story with a good twist. Congrats!
It's not exactly success yet, but I'm still pretty thrilled... I just got the first response back on my novel submission (I sent out 5 queries to editors back in the end of Feb). Editor requested a full!!!
Now, to wait 6-12 months to hear anything. That's why I like short fiction better, heh *grin*

Wow, that's awesome!
I can only imagine how exciting that must be.
Congrats, Ms. Nobu.
How did you go about deciding which 5 editors to send to? I'm much more familiar with playing the agent game, so I'm not as up on how to find editors at variou s houses.
Thanks for any insights.

Silly Brad =)
It's an area where around 13 or so stores in a walking area have artists set up their art on display. On average there is about 33 artists total. I am displaying in a statuary with gothic statues and fantasy sculptures.
Kick arse update!!! =) I was approached by Eric Cagle of Privateer Press he wants me for "No Quater" gaming magazine, working pirate/steampunkish/futuristic weapon-y mixed art with characters and cityscapes...
I'll have to get a set of entries in for one last try before I start working with them and they start paying me.
I don't know how I've missed seeing this for so long, Ms Jordan -- but HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to you (even tho hugely Belated, too) !!!
She shoots -- she scores! She's pro!

Hey I sold my Q4 2009 entry--the one they pulled when I won Q3--to IGMS!
My second pro-sale.
WOTF, Vol.26.
Well done!
My only success has been at collecting rejection slips. Got twelve so far, three of which were personal. Two said that the stories (two different stories) both had great imagery, but weren't too satisfied with the plot structure. The third said "Well written and publishable," adding only that the story was too "negative" for the publication's preferences.
Done with finals after Tuesday. That means... time to write new stories! I'm going to shoot for at least 1 new story every 1-2 weeks this summer.
No, I WILL write at least 1 new story (first draft) every week this summer.
Yes. That's how it's going to work.
And I'm going to hopefully clean my bedroom and car, and work out. Hopefully. Stories come first, though. Hehe.
Congrats, Skadder!
(Alex- yay, write a story a week... AND MAIL IT!)
Oh ya, I never waste in any time in the mailing/submitting process. That's my favorite part! (Actually, I suppose writing is technically more fun, but the mailing part is the more gratifying feeling.)
Hi Skadder
Congrats
It's good to see a Brit doing well.
Where did it sell to?

IGMS = Inter Galactic Medicine Show.
Orson Scott Card's web zine.
Coming up: "Life Flight," in
Coming up: "The Chaplain's War," from
Nebula, Hugo, and Campbell nominee.
Thanks...yes Inter-Galactic Medicine Show.
It is considered by theSFWA as a professional market as it meets their criteria--same as WOTF.
WOTF, Vol.26.
My story "Life's a Grind" is out in the current issue of Murky Depths, a British Horror mag, if anyone's ever heard of it. Not much compared to getting into IGMS(great job, skadder!) but I'm pretty excited about it.
It's print only, so I won't really expect many of you to read it, but it is a great little magazine. Sort of a cross between graphic novels(shorts though) and regular stories.

Good job! I submitted to them (only poems, though) and I never heard anything. That was two years ago...I guess that's a rejection, then.
