Congratulations, Dustin. And that's a nice cover! I see that Sean Patrick Hazlett also has a story in there. Pretty darn cool.
You have sharp eyes, my friend! Thanks for the shot out. It's an honor to be in the same magazine as Dustin, who I also think just sold something to Daily Science Fiction!
And congrats to everyone all around. It looks like everyone is starting to see some momentum with their sales!

Very quick turn around on the flash sale at Every Day Fiction. "The Underground" is now live if anybody would like a quick bite of horror to spice up early October. http://www.everydayfiction.com/the-unde ... cca-birch/
Also, I can now announce the other happy I mentioned earlier. My short story, "The Memory of Huckleberries," which was a WotF HM and originally published in Penumbra eMag, has been included in the Best of Penumbra Volume 1 anthology, which is now available at http://musapublishing.com/index.php?mai ... cts_id=661
It's my first "Best of" anything. I'm thrilled to be included and to share the Table of Contents with a group of very talented writers.

Another publication. My name on the cover. Great artwork by Laura Givens.
The October issue of Outposts of Beyond, featuring science fiction and fantasy tales seasoned with a few dabs of poetry and filled out with a couple fine articles, is now available for purchase. The stories include “Fleet,” by M. Keaton; “Sparkles,” by Beth Powers; “The God Thing,” by Australia’s Steve Cameron. There’s poetry by multiple Rhysling winner Robert Frazier, and by England’s Deborah Walker, among others. Finally, there are two excellent essays, one on character development by Rachel Holt, the other on being Goth, by Kimberly Richardson. All this is wrapped inside a really kicking cover by Laura Givens. Come try us out, see what we can do.
Yay.

I'm kind of a little bit excited right now. I just made my first Pro Level sale. Mike Resnick bought one of my stories for Galaxy's Edge. And yes, it was a WotF reject and I only added one word before sending it to him.
Tina critted it for me way back before I subbed it to WotF. Thanks for the advice, Tina.
As I said, I'm kind of excited. And I'm dancing right now.

Woot! Woot! Galaxy's Edge is a great market. And I loved that story! So glad it found a home. I was baffled over the rejection--because it was so good--especially the voice.
Some great ones slip through. This is just proof. Also some stories do awesome in some markets and bomb in others--it's unfortunately not an exact science.

Thanks all.
Yes, pretty excited - and proof that an 'R' can be of quality. And that there's a large element of taste in the judging.

One word. Ha! Love it.
I agree about the editorial taste. I swear, two of my recent R's are great stories, but I keep violating the opening rules, so he's not reading them. Not to say this is his fault, it's mine, because I know what not to do and I'm doing it anyway, but I still believe in those stories.
Anyway, GE - Awesome!

Grats, Steve.
Pro sale at last. Huzzah!
As for WotF, yep, it's pretty clear to me editorial tastes are critical. If I were to only take my WotF record, my writing is getting much worse not better as I still haven't even managed an HM from David. But one of those form rejects got a personal "send more" from Analog, and a second got a "this was close, send more," from Clarkesworld, so they can't be that bad surely. I'm hoping I'm going to sell one of those sooner or later just so that I can go, "Ha! Look!"
I'm so evil... It's not just the Gator you know.
Yes but I'm more evil than you.
Are you sure?
Absolutely.
I'm the White Witch of Narnia don't forget. And you really don't like the cold.
