And let's not forget all those anthologies edited by Alex Shvartsman.
You ain't lived until, as an editor, you've had to fill some of the anthologies I had to find stories for:
SHAGGY B.E.M. STORIES (1988), ALTERNATE KENNEDYS (1992 -- and crazily enough, we got a couple
of Hugo nominees out of it), ALTERNATE WORLDCONS (1994), GIRLS FOR THE SLIME GOD (1997), and on
and on.

The title has me hooked. Is it still in print?
Well, given the proclivities of my companion Long John I decided to start on SUBMERGED. Somewhat to my surprise I'm quite quickly nearly 2000 words in and having a lot of fun. Inevitably a period piece of course; if I write much more high seas fantasy I'm going to have to invent a new name for the subgenre.
What do you think of Brig-punk?

Considerin' as how a brig is normally a man o' war and us pirates usually sailed converted merchantmen, I don't think that's a good name at all. Anyways, why does everythin' have to be punk? I reckon it should be Pieces of Eight-Track! Ooh arrr!

Three of the anthologies I mentioned are out of print. SHAGGY B.E.M. STORIES is back
in print under a new title: BUG-EYED MONSTERS AND BIMBOS. (The publisher didn't know
what a B.E.M. was.) Anthologies don't live that long. Of the 42 I've edited since 1988, I
think 4 are still available.
