I was going to say yay people are using this again but maybe not. Even though back to Oct isn't too far.

My Story "Bang the Drum," inspired by a weird Buddhist hell and the saddest moment in a classical Indian biography of the Buddha, recently came out in Speculative North Issue #3. It will be free on Kindle tomorrow all-day, so if this interests you or you just want to support a newer 'zine, that's a good time to buy.
Only a few days left, but I have a free story "Fish and Fools" in the Smashwords Summer/Winter Sale, and my collection of sixteen stories, Sorcery & Widgets, is 50% off through the end of July.
It's not e-publishing, but I'm also selling my surplus supply of signed paperbacks of Sorcery & Widgets through my website until the end of July.
Does anyone else have ebooks in the Smashwords sale?
Hey, everyone! I'm editing and providing art for 4th and Starlight, an illustrated anthology featuring compelling new voices and rising stars in the genres of science fiction and fantasy. I plan to launch the Kickstarter on November 10th! You can sign up at the link below to get notified when the project launches. The ToC is populated by a host of Writers of the Future winners, finalists, and semi-finalists, so I figured people here might be interested in checking it out.

I've realized the pre-launch preview for the Kickstarter doesn't actually show any details about the Kickstarter yet--so with that in mind, I wanted to announce the authors being included in the anthology:
Dustin Adams Van Alrik Julia Ashley Rebecca Birch Alicia Cay Preston Dennett Kary English Kristy Evangelista Dr. Robert Finegold Philip Brian Hall Rachelle Harp Y.M. Pang John D. Payne K.L. Schwengel M. Elizabeth Ticknor Rebecca E. Treasure Mike Wyant Jr.
While some of these stories are reprints, there are a number of original stories as well (we've got about half reprints, half new fiction). If you want to receive a reminder in your e-mail when the Kickstarter goes live, feel free to subscribe using the link above.

so, I submitted a couple of fantasy stories around climate fiction (#CliFi) and got in to the awesome anthology called "GAIA AWAKENS" around climate crisis, where the Earth awakens and this week they have released the anthology in hardcover, paperback, and ebook.
Thinking what Dave said today on the Issue 36/37 Workshop zoom Q&A, there are some wonderful dystopian stories in there that could be great idea generators for a different WOTF submission.
They (we) also have a Digital launch Thursday Nov 11, 2021 0730 PM EST time where you can meet the authors. (including me) Here at this public FB link, but there is a link in it to the zoom call - https://www.facebook.com/events/315176433384258
Sorry for oversharing, after watching the awards ceremony broadcast, I got all inspirational!

The Kickstarter is off to a good start! We were 22% funded at 24 hours in. Our first update discusses the various tales included in the anthology so backers (and prospective backers) can get a taste of the stories they'll be funding.
(For the record, I won't be posting every update for the Kickstarter here--I'm not looking to spam the forum. I just want to make sure the important updates, like this one, are easily available to read, because this is the sort of thing that would interest me if I were in others' shoes.)

Good news, everyone! 4th and Starlight is 36% funded, which means we're more than a third of the way there. I'd like to extend a hearty thank you to everyone who's backed us so far. 6 days down, 24 to go! (Well, okay, 7 down and 23 to go, depending on how you do the math--I did start the Kickstarter around 9am, and those 30 days seem to be specific down to the hour.)

The 4th and Starlight Kickstarter has kind of stalled at 47% and we've only got nine days to go at this point, so I'm basically asking everyone I know to share it on their socials and get the word out. I appreciate any and all help in this regard.
EDIT: Okay, we're $10 away from being half-funded now, and I've arranged for some add-ons (including a digital artbook--and critiques from some of our authors and editors)! Details in the link below:

Hello, all. The 4th and Starlight Kickstarter is 62% funded, with five days to go!
Also, The Storyteller Series has an audiobook recording of 'Lavender Footsteps' in the works, and they've graciously agreed to provide it as a free bonus reward to all backers! You'll receive it at any pledge level.

The 4th and Starlight Kickstarter is 70% funded, three days from completion! After receiving a couple requests for an autograph option, I've set up the option to get autographed copies of the paperback copies of 2nd and Starlight, 3rd and Starlight, and 4th and Starlight (it's a $5 add-on per book--the cost is essentially just intended to cover the cost of signing materials, as well as shipping from editor to editor when such a thing proves necessary).
We also have a couple more volunteers for critiques, should people have an interest: John D. Payne has agreed to provide one, as has Writers of the Future Volume 35 winner Elise Saba Stephens! (Also, Leah Ning only has one slot left--so if you want to lock in a crit from any of these wonderful authors, it's best to do so ASAP!)
And, last but not least, we have a limited availability option to gain an e-book download of Philip Brian Hall's novel, 'The Family Demon'. It's a $3 option, with 20 copies available!

The Signal Out Of Space, book 1 of THIS FINE CREW, is being published by Chris Kennedy Publishing and Theogony Books 12/10. If you're into space opera and have ever wondered what would happen if Leviathan Wakes were set at Starfleet Academy, I think you'd enjoy this novel. It's the first in a series, with books 2 and 3 slotted for release early in 2022.
For the book launch itself, we'll be hosting a live Zoom event, with passage readings, concept art sharing, and book giveaways. The details are in this facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/858081388203735
This is an exciting and new process for me. Thank you all for the support and encouragement

Also, Y.M. Pang has volunteered to provide some critiques, and she's been published everywhere from Fantasy & Science Fiction to Clarkesworld to Beneath Ceaseless Skies, so I would argue her perspective on any story is immensely valuable.

The first three novels in my science fiction series are up on Amazon in e-book and paperback. The fourth is in the works I also co-publish my husband's novels but I'll wait and see if I can get him to join the forum instead of sharing for him. He submits to WOTF as well but hasn't taken the dive into the forum yet
My series is a character driven hard sci-fi epic that follows a collection of characters who colonize Mars seeking reproductive freedom.
Question about self publishing methods: I've read about a method, or technique of creating a series, offering the first book free and publishing monthly thereafter -or on a very tight schedule like that.
That tight publishing schedule sets the idea apart, in my mind, and it seems to have a name, or be associated with a particular person.
The name of this "method" it seems to me, might be numeric, like the 5, 7, 7 Plan or something like that.
I want to bring this up at my writer's workshop, to a friend for for whom the notion might have resonance. Any help?
@angelslayah I’ve never heard a numeric title for the principle of launching a multiple book indie series in quick succession. The term I’ve always heard—and I’ve listened to lectures by indie guru Michael Anderle on it—is Rapid Release.

For my website, I created buttons for each of these sellers. Some of the sites already had buttons, but they were slightly different size or shape. I suppose you're not supposed to modify them, but I adjusted their borders so that all six buttons matched.
If you'd like copies of the buttons, send me a private message (@markwilx), and I'll send them to you.
