WOTF simultaneous submissions

I've never thought that of either of them. The Submissions Grinder lists both as not accepting simsubs.

I assume "no simsubs, no multisubs" as the default, to be honest, as it's such a commonly held position, and there's little to gain (a publication three months sooner than otherwise) and a lot to lose (blacklisted from a market).

Is there a particular rush?

If you're concerned with the amount of time that WOTF might have your submission, you can submit towards the end of a quarter, rather than the start. That's what I do.

Over the years I've learned that a strong proof element is GOLD because it can't be manufactured by a copywriter. It's best when you couple a powerful proof element with a powerful promise. A powerful promise alone rolls off a prospect like water off a duck's back. The two, powerful promise and powerful proof, must be joined at the hip.

I think I'll play it safe and assume both WOTF and IGMS forgot to put "no simultaneous submissions" on their submission pages.

For what it's worth, I learned a ton about query letters on Janet Reid's site. You may already know about it, but here's the link just in case: queryshark.blogspot.com.

I submitted my first novel manuscript a lot before I had "credits" and got some requests. It's true they help, but an amazing query letter can work until you get them. Don't discount smaller credits or contest wins. They can help for sure. And of course, keep submitting! Submit, write, submit, write some more is my motto.
