From Dave Farland's Daily Kick:

Yesterday I learned that my good friend, mentor, and fellow writer Orson Scott Card had a stroke and would be canceling all appearances for the near future....
....Fortunately, it was a minor stroke....

Here's wishing Mr. Card a speedy recovery. He's got a long road ahead, no doubt - but I've known friends to completely kick the effects of a stroke (one of them quite serious) - so it is possible to make a pretty full recovery. I wish him all the best in the coming months.

Someone mentioned me somewhere, once. But, it wasn't here. And, it wasn't honorable. (A.K.A. 2x Rejections.)
A blog-like kind of thing...

I'm in the middle of reading "Keeper of Dreams" by Mr. Card, and am in the middle of recovery from a similar condition (my left hand is very uncooperative still) and came here today to make my first post something I care deeply about and to wish for one of my favorite author's a speedy and full recovery. I'm glad I wasn't the first and I know I won't be the last--get well Orson!

Oh no, Mr. Card is one of my favorite authors, and I only just discovered him and started reading his books in the last 2-3 years. He has such a big heart, and obviously loves his craft, and really cares about the sf/f & mid-grade communities. Wishing Mr. Card a speedy recovery.

Best wishes to him, and here's hoping he makes a quick and full recovery. Here's a thread at hatrack with a little more info if anyone is interested:

Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead are two of the novels I have been inspired by in my writings. Here's wishing a speedy recovery, Mr. Card.

Who knows how Mr. Card is now that it's nearly April?

He's doing quite a bit better. While he didn't do a full book tour, he has done a couple of public appearances to promote his Formic Wars comics.

I'm glad he's recovering. Ender's Game really touched me in a personal way.
