The product of several months of struggle, my Q4 idea finally reached port at about ten and a half thousand words. This is the same story for which Stewart and Austin were kind enough to offer 450 critiques when I was stuck with it and this eventually forced my creative engine back into gear. I should like to run the current draft past one or two pairs of eyes before submitting, since experience with my Q2 suggest that I am not picking up various problems.
I am more than happy to reciprocate with stories of any length, now or later but, as those who have exchanged with me before will probably confirm, I am an inveterate nit-picker and after a page or so of my comments you may regret that, since we are at email length, you are not able to throw things at me!

I should like to add to the above by thanking Austin for doing the heavy lifting. As a result there is quite a bit less dross and quite a bit more gold than there used to be in them thar hills of words. Latest draft still available for exchange should anyone else be brave enough!
