May I remind forum members that I'm still happy to offer critiques and sometimes exchanges despite being pro'ed out of the contest. Obviously if I knew how to win I'd have won, but I managed a semi-finalist and a couple of silvers. I don't however tell people their stories are good if I don't think they are and I do point out faults if I find them. PM me or (if we've exchanged before and you have my address) email me.
NB don't expect me to know what quarter of what volume it is!

I could use another check over on mine between 6,000 and 6,600 words. And it is sort of, kind of, well its just plain speculative.

I haven't punted yet because someone took a look at my story and sent a bunch of suggestions. I wanted to fix those things first. Then I got involved with my soon-to-be released novel and now I need to spend quality time on my story this week. Depending on how many suggestions I use-probably most of them-I plan to be done by this weekend. Would I still be able to send it to you then?

A reminder that I'm still here, though not very vocal these days. Perhaps I should add a word of warning, though, because the last person to whom I sent a crit never replied, so it is possible that I'm becoming a curmudgeon in my old age and insulting folks. Therefore, be warned, I was born in Yorkshire, where we tend to be a bit blunt. But I have done crits for people who went on to win the contest. Just sayin'.

Had a flash of panic that I'd never replied to you, but as far as I can see I did. If it was me, mea culpa! Folks, take him up on this offer! Blunt, yes, but very very helpful. Ishmael, I might send my Q3 to you if that's alright. I'm almost done with my grammar edit.

I'd like to get a 450 crit from somebody on a new story I began yesterday. I've had several people crit the first part of my other story, which was very helpful even though Charles Finlay still rejected it.
I ain't cut out to be no Jesse James.
Does anyone know if Ishmael is still doing critiques?
