Thanks! I got some very differing reviews on that story as you can imagine.

I have a story due out this week if anyone wants to take a look. I have to warn you though, it's a long one at 10K words.

I see that Matt and Stewart have a story in the queue as well. I definitely want to look at that one wotf007

Indeed we do. About 5k, and a very silly fantasy thing it is too. Confession: the pissing dog statue is the fault of my corrupted imagination, athough Stewart is hardly innocent as far as ridiculous ideas go.

Sorry I missed your piece the other week Zaan--being kept too busy by other things over my lunch breaks and not getting round to much critting at all 🙁

No, thank you for a very useful and detailed critique.

I've a story up again in the queue this week if anyone's interested.

No worries Matt, I've missed a few weeks myself. School's doing its best to keep me on my toes.

And Aaron, I'm sorry to have missed your story. I saw Matt's but seem to have overlooked yours. Also the story I have up this week is one you've already critted, just mildly tweaked and with a different title, so no need to re-crit it as I don't think it's changed all that much.

Whoa I remember using that site back in 2002. I totally forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder.

I've got a story up this week: Man, Dog, Robot. It's an overhaul of a previous version I ran through Critters. If you have time would especially appreciate any thoughts on how the story fits, or doesn't fit, with WOTF. It runs on satire and a pinch of crude humor. Not sure it fits the WOTF mold.

I fell off the critters wagon over the summer, I'm afraid, but I'm clambering back on now. And I have one up this week, a mere slip of a thing at 1500 words, about fairies, if anyone has the time. Cheers!

I have wielded my MIGHTY and NEWFOUND powers of pro-authorship to sneak a story into the queue at zero notice 😀 3000 words of magical realism turning to horror, up for another couple of days. It's got 13 crits already, so enough to be going on with; mostly posting this here in case any of you are nosey and want to have a gander at a rough first draft of mine (and this one is rough; written it and thrown it straight in the queue, because it feels like it needs big stuff doing to it still so not bothered polishing the prose yet).

It may amuse some of you to look at my story in the critters queue this week, because it's the story I wrote in the WotF 24 hour challenge last year, based on the stone Tim gave me:

Spoilers: it's not that great. I remembered it being better before I dig it up. But on the bright side, seems like I really have grown as a writer over the last year.

I came across your story "The Space Between Souls" in this week's manuscripts. It's not as bad as you think. I hope you're able to get re-inspired on it and find it a good home. 😉

I have one coming up in the cue next week so look for one by Amy Henrie Gillett if you want to return the favor. 😉 I work on my stories in the same way I paint, one coat at a time and each layer adds more details. Just an FYI, I'd say this story is only two or three coats in. I won't mention the name here because I'm thinking of using it for this quarters entry.

Just an FYI. I've got a story in the Critters cue this week (until the 24th) for any critters out there. My first attempt at a light fantasy short story. Look for me name: Amy Henrie Gillett. 😉

Hi Amy, I'll make sure to read yours then! Mine hits the top of the queue in two weeks, I'm excited/nervous/terrified.

Anyone up for the 19th through 24th?

I used to run my stories through Critters but that never worked for me, even after three times so I quit sending in stories but I still like to crit stories so I do.

I have another story in the queue this week - "After the Escape." It is unchanged from when it won Silver Honorable Mention in Q1 (So, amy has already given me a critique. I just wanted some more opinions before I dive into story surgery.)

My story "2 Flowers" is now available for critique at critters. It's admittedly a bit of a mess, but wanted some opinions before refining it.

When I saw this thread awhile ago, I went and joined Critters. I do now have a story available for critique, if anyone wants to read and critique it.

The story is titled, "As Mysterious as a Cat."

It's my Q1 reject, by the way.

Thanks!

Chris

I'll keep an eye out for it today!

The first few chapters of the novel I'm editing should pop up on there June 6th as well. The working title is "Fallen Gods" and the chunk is only ~8800 words if anyone is interested.

* Latest Edit pushes my submission back another week. Blargh.
