Hello everyone, it's been a while since I've been on the forum; I entered college last year! I wanted to try and enter a contest sometime with the draft I've been working on since my junior year of high school. It's my first true foray into the sci-fi genre since my specialty is fantasy. I'm not fully done with it yet since I've been revising, but I was wondering if anyone would be interested in giving some critique based on the comments I've left in the document. You can judge based on the parameters set in the contest rules, how the story flows, etc. I just want to be sure that I've gotten somewhere after these last few years. I'd love to offer critique back since I'm a voracious speed reader -- I can't guarantee an immediate critique right before a contest, but I can guarantee earnest feedback. Let me know if you're interested!
Happy to! I'll DM you my email address.

How many words?
@vrlass About 11K, but I am interested in cutting down some sections so I can make sure important scenes get the words they need.
Hi everyone, someone offered to take a look at my story and exchange for a critique later on. Thank you all so much for your support!
Pssst…
the purpose is not to find someone to look at your story but to find many different someone’s.
i can exchange your 11 try at sci-fi for 2 stories - 8k cyberpunk and 5 k spooky romance in future.
@vrlass I see! I'll private message you the draft and read yours as well!
Hey there, feel free to send it my way as well.
“Stories are the collective wisdom of everyone who has ever lived. Your job as a storyteller is not simply to entertain. Nor is it to be noticed for the way your turn a phrase. You have a very important job—one of the most important. Your job is to let people know that everyone shares their feelings—and that these feelings bind us. Your job is a healing art, and like all healers, you have a responsibility. Let people know they are not alone. You must make people understand that we are all the same.”
