Today is the last day for Q2 (Cycle 40B) submissions.

Reminder you have to fill out the form and mark that as complete. Then once the form is complete you have to submit it:) It is a two-step process. 

Once you get the email confirmation from the submission system you are all set, if you don't please email [email protected] or DM me so that I can help.

Congratulations to everyone that's submitted so far! Yesterday was my designated day to finish Q2, but then work kept me busy from 0800 - 2230, and with a stinking cold I couldn't do anything productive when I got home.

Hoping I can find some time today...

If it helps, I'm at my keyboard typing away at my Mike Resnick entry.

All right, I'm in.  Had the interesting problem of getting some very useful critiques that spawned new ideas, but I was wary of engaging too deeply because that would mess with the tempo of the story, which is an important feature.  In the end, I added about 250 words.

This weekend I start the rewrite of a story that has failed twice before and is getting its last chance.  Maybe I'll have the elusive three pending soon.

Hey I just realize this marks my first year in WoTF!!! My first sub was V39 Q2, just under the deadline. I've grown so much to have ten hours to spare this time ::flex::

I love you guys ❤️.

I'm in. I have to stop waiting until the last day. I just suffered glitches, extensive buffering, and no internet messages.  

Hope one of us gets to LA.

On that note, I am IN for Q2. It's a fun story that's a bit different than what I've written before, but not so far off that I would say it doesn't feel like my writing. I got some good reader feedback at the last minute, so thanks Storysinger for that!

Edit: I also just got a phone call from LA. It was a solar panel telemarketer. We already have solar.

I got a fresh pot of Joe brewing for the last minute stragglers. You can do this.

The folks who hang to this last moment have tougher nerves than me! I honestly never trust that:

- The system won't break
- My internet connection won't go down
- I won't suffer a power-outage right when I'm preparing to submit

...or any number of other things that might happen to me that, of course, never actually have happened--but you just never know, right? Right?

Awesome job in sticking with it! I remember the first few deadlines being the roughest ones; if you've stuck with it this long, I'd wager that you're with us for the long run. Or at least until you get that winning call!  

Finally, in! This is the latest I've ever submitted. Honestly, a few days ago, I doubted I'd finish this story. It floated around in my brain for months, but wouldn't come together. I've also never submitted a story that didn't have any feedback, but my critique group meeting got canceled this week. The last couple days were pure editing. Whatever the results, I learned a lot with this story. I do my best writing when I'm not writing. My best ideas come when I first wake up and haven't gotten out of bed. Or when I do mundane tasks like pulling weeds. Also, I'm going to print out every story from now on. Errors stand out on paper.

Thanks @toddjones, @joel-c-scoberg, @jeschleicher and others outside this thread. Just got it in. Struggled a bit with motivation this evening (what a week to have a bad work week and a killer cold) so your messages really helped.

Just submitted with literally 2 minutes to spare. My heart is still racing. I always seem to be right on the wire, but this time I was still writing sentences 20 minutes before I submitted.

I had some health issues this week, but still . . . whew!!

I have suffered one of those events before. I emailed my submission to Joni and got in that way.

Well, from the Not All Bad dept. 
I had nothing, really, for Q2 till Strange Horizons dropped my story after 179 days (69 days after a "hold" notice) with a FORM rejection on the last day of March.

Angelslayah, how frustrating! Glad you got it back to send out again, though.

As waits begin, it can be tricky for me to remember that my bit is writing awesome stories and submitting them - always my next best move. Sometimes after sending off a story, I mentally wave my arms like a bowler trying to influence the bowling ball I've already sent rolling down the lane. Maybe not the most productive use of my mental energy, although it would be awesome if we had Writers of the Future jackets. We'd look amazing!

NOW I can finally start wondering about Q2 results since Q1 emails are rolling in.
I expect we'll start seeing Q2 results right around...ohh...July?!?

I'm more excited about my Q2 story, than my Q1. I feel it is my 2nd best story, but it may be my best when you consider the wider audience who would like it.

Trying to brush off Q1 and get excited about a new story for Q3. Maybe I'll fix an old story, since I'm working on my horror novel. Who knows what could happen when my brain starts spinning.
