Based on an interview Dave did the other day, I'm guessing we have another week or two.

Yeah, Dave said something like, if I read 12 hours a day for the next 10 days I'll be close.
Which could have been sarcasm, but I got the impression that was his plan.

Do you think she means "next few days" as in... sometime in the next couple weeks? Or as in really just a few days? Based on what Dave said in his recent interview about needing to read 12 hours a day for the next 10 days to get through the stories, I kind of read it as more generic (meaning they're working on the results and it should be sometime kind of soon), but now I'm wondering...

Okay, so this is what just happened to me. I was minding my own business and studying, then a got an unknown call from the US. I stared blankly at the phone, wondering if this was the phone call that would change my life......I picked it up, and nervously said, "hello?"
It was my uncle, who lives in LA...

- My destiny awaits! 🏆
I’m much less excited this time, as this is the first story I’ve submitted that I didn’t really think was any good. After 3 HMs out of 3 submissions so far, I’m expecting a straight rejection this time!

That's how I'm feeling. Mine was a short kind of quirky one, but I've had some success with those before, so who knows. I do start to get a little antsy if I go too long without a solid R though - makes me feel like I'm not taking enough risks...

I'm always surprised. Of my last two entries, the one I thought was great got an R and the one I thought wasn't a good fit for the contest got an HM. My story for Q3, when I first subbed I thought it was okay... then I looked at it again and realized, hey it's pretty good! Looked at it again a few weeks ago and noticed the opening could really use some help. It seems like I usually think that when judging draws near. I like to think of it as a sign of improvement, but not sure lol. But it's impossible to say. We may be surprised yet.

put him in your contacts asap so that doesn't happen again...... or tell him not to call at the end of certain months

I told him about the contest and how I had been anticipating a call from the contest director.
Now hopefully he won’t call until the results have been announced
