A friend sent me a writing prompt from a group she's in. It immediately made me think of a short story, nearly completely formed. I wrote the first draft in one sitting. After reading it, and rereading it, I decided that I loved it.

Congrats! It's wonderful when a story comes to you fully formed.
Good Luck in Q3!

Scott,
I'm glad you got in at all! That's firing at the target...

I felt off-kilter writing-wise the past few months and missed it. Now I don't get to twitch with everyone this Q. I feel like I did something wrong. Working on Q4 now. Maybe you'll have one as well.

Stay on target!

Hello!!

Can I ask when the results for Q3 usually come in? Is it another month of nail-biting? Two? Or maybe sooner? I don't have that much nails...

Good luck to everyone!!

Yeah, we've probably got at least a month yet. But, since someone is twitching:

*sets up pillow fort, complete with complimentary concessions stand* Hot cocoa, anyone?

I've honestly been indulging in the guilty pleasure of fanfiction writing to get my mind off things. It is more therapeutic than I thought 😛

I haven't done that in ages, but I kind of want to. wotf019 The problem is, I don't have much time for writing these days, so I have to be choosy about what I work on.

FYI everyone, Q3 results for the last two years have come:
- 3 October 2018 and
- 28 September 2019.
I’m in NZ, so my dates may differ from everyone else’s by a day.

So, a bit early to start twitching. Unless you really wanna.

Weird. I have results Sept 1 2017, Sept 9 2018, and Sept 27 2019. I wonder what happened that you have October there? One day I would blame on the date line but a whole month and I’m starting to worry about time machines or black holes. wotf001

2018 might have been the last year they sent results out in waves. I think they've been sending one big wave since around when my babies were born (during Q1 2019), but it used to be a regular thing.

I got to ask Dave how Q3 is coming along. He said he just got the culled stack. He also said if he reads for twelve hours a day for ten days he can complete his reading and judging. He mentioned maybe end of September. That sounds optimistic to me, but I thought I'd pass it along to those of you twitching instead of writing your Q4s! Smile

Today I got an email from Joni. It was a pretty standard, don't forget to enter next quarter, email. But it had this nice tidbit in it.

Dear 3rd Quarter Contestant,

You are getting this as a 3rd quarter entrant yada yada yada

I know you have not yet heard results from the 3rd Quarter but we will have them in the next couple of weeks.

So, the twitching is warranted.

Between that email, and Wulf Moon's post, I'm guessing 2 weeks might be somewhat optimistic as well. But I think it's okay to twitch now. Or better yet... write!

I'm wondering whether I should get my Q4 entry ready now or begin my second novel...
I really don’t want to think about my Q3 results, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t twitching...
