A friend sent me a writing prompt from a group she's in. It immediately made me think of a short story, nearly completely formed. I wrote the first draft in one sitting. After reading it, and rereading it, I decided that I loved it.

I'm glad you got in at all! That's firing at the target...I felt off-kilter writing-wise the past few months and missed it. Now I don't get to twitch with everyone this Q. I feel like I did something wrong. Working on Q4 now. Maybe you'll have one as well.

2018 might have been the last year they sent results out in waves. I think they've been sending one big wave since around when my babies were born (during Q1 2019), but it used to be a regular thing.

Today I got an email from Joni. It was a pretty standard, don't forget to enter next quarter, email. But it had this nice tidbit in it.
Dear 3rd Quarter Contestant,
You are getting this as a 3rd quarter entrant yada yada yada
I know you have not yet heard results from the 3rd Quarter but we will have them in the next couple of weeks.
So, the twitching is warranted.
Between that email, and Wulf Moon's post, I'm guessing 2 weeks might be somewhat optimistic as well. But I think it's okay to twitch now. Or better yet... write!
