I'm wondering if some of us cop the twitching more than others. Living in Auz, good ol' Thursday comes around (that's right, THURSDAY) and then it goes with nothing. Wha--wait, it's still Wednesday in the US? Anywho,

Last night was not the best night for my cat to unplug my phone from charger.  Luckily husband woke me up this morning.

No, not double, but something like 2-3 weeks on the outside.

Kary—I have a question, and I understand if you aren't able to answer it, but it's something I've always wondered about.
What percent (roughly) of quarterly entries do you see that are completely unreadable? Like, the author wasn't even trying to take this contest seriously. What they sent in wasn't even a story. Maybe it was a marriage proposal, or hate mail about the US, or a letter from some Nigerian prince asking for bank routing numbers to wire you a small fortune. Stuff like that.

I didn't make this quarter but good luck to everyone who did. I know there will be some hi-ranking stories this quarter.

Maybe this little tidbit will bring a smile from you on this Thursday's twitchathon. I had a missed call from california. 

I looked up Joni's number, which I've used before, so I know it's hers.

The numbers were not the same. I've recently changed phones so I wanted Joni's number in the new phone.

When I added a new contact, every time I said Joni Labaqui, my talk to text printed--Joanie loves chachi-- What a hoot.

Shoot! I was really hoping today was Thursday!

Dash it, I had to read your post a few times-I thought you were saying Joni did call you today! I was like "I don't have anything?" But I got there.

On a serious, non-stalkerish note, how did you get Joni's number? I mostly ask because I'd love to have it in my phone. Although I haven't had one for a while, sometimes I get as many as three to four calls a day from random spam numbers. SO. ANNOYING.  If I don't recognize the number these days, I usually just don't answer.  

Anyone know if numbers (even mobiles) from California start with a certain digits?

It's all good, because, today is Thursday. 

So is tomorrow.

@scott_m_sands I have to admit I had a robo call both yesterday and today that I fell for. It would be nice to know if the call comes in, I can answer it.

I sat and stared down at my phone,

just waiting for a call. 

And then it rang, oh this is it,

I may have won it all!

”Hello, Joni? Tell me please,

just how well did I do?”

I hold my breath, I cannot wait!

My story, it went through!

A pause, a click, who is it?

I cannot wait to see.

Then a voice mechanical

asks ‘bout my warranty.

There's a book by the Strugatsky brothers "Monday Begins on Saturday," all this Thursday talk reminds me of. 

Scott, I did a little research after your question. The number I talked to Joni on is an Author Services #. I must have called when everyone else had received their placement. That # is in the contact portal for ASI. I do not have Joni's personal info.

I’m sure Joni would leave a message if her call is missed. I don’t think we have to be held prisoner to the spam community. The anticipation is hard enough without dealing with robocalls ?

Joni calls from a blocked number. On my phone it came up as “UNKNOWN”.

@ceciblack this reminds me that I really need to get my voicemail set up on the new phone I had to get in late August so I could use my phone at my home address (switched from Verizon to ATT). I miss my old phone which fit better in my hands. The new phone is too large and the case is what they had on stock (no choices). Ugh! I don't think I'll be getting a call from Joni for Volume 38, though. I would assume those who are finalists also get an email as well. My cell phone rings constantly with offers for health insurance from when I had to change health insurance to a private one after my big move to my home state and childhood home...

I'm getting that the big batch of emails haven't gone out yet other than to @Dragonchef who I know will do much better next time, 😉 Never give up, never surrender!

Nice to have fyrecon and end of semester chores to distract me from twitching too much...

Yep - my call from her was "unknown".

Thursday is eternal. This timeline is one continuous Thursday. Thursday cannot be coaxed, begged, or denied. Thursday looms large in our collective consciousness because we are all, on some level, Thursday. Thursday is a state of being. Others think Thursday is their friend; we were born in the Thursday. Molded by it. I'd go all Dune on this, but everything is the mind-killer and the little death these days.

I'm just going to confuse things further by noting that her number didn't show as blocked for me--but I was expecting that it would, so when she called, I thought it was a spam call and blocked it to voicemail.

She did leave a voicemail, fortunately. And the follow up call later did show as restricted, just as expected.
