@axeminister yeah. Those first 2 pages and your last page are very important. I understand that at least one famous author, I forget who, re-writes the first paragraph of their story over and over until it is just right.

Same here. Tried different computers and still nothing. Hopefully it's just a blip and it will be back up momentarily.

Just FYI, I tried and I also can't submit. I'll try again in a couple of hours. Guess it still is pretty early, Pacific time.

Hi! New guy here. I'm trying to get a submission in for this quarter's contest, but I get a message on the Wizehive form telling me it is closed for applications. After reading through the forums for last year in Q3, it looks like this is some kind of recurring bug? : https://writersofthefuture.com/forum/the-contest-quarterly-topics-and-other-items/discussion-q3-volume-37/paged/7/#post-33224
Is there any recourse I can take to get my story submitted?
Thanks!
Sorry about the trouble the system closed down a day early due to a timing issue. This has now been fixed. Good luck with your story.
I might need some of that Moon Magic! About 12 hours left and I still have to put an ending on this beast. It's nearly a complete re-write, but the word count is looking good and my wife once was a professional proofreader. Of course, it's storming and I could lose power or my internet, but that just keeps things spicy!
Write on!

Okay, I submitted today. Used what I have learned about writing... Just read some of the posts on first person pov. Kind of wished I hadn't read one of them but that is a different subject. Anyway, I have sent in both First Person and Third person stories. The few HMs I have gotten are too far back I do not recall which Person they were written in. I won't say which one this story is. But I did rewrite it three times. I mean rewrite from scratch. A pro editor-not from here-read the first version and said he couldn't get into it. So I rewrote it. I had some problems with the second writing but I do not recall what at the moment. Didn't finish it--if I recall correctly--so I did a third one. Got that one done, revised and edited--fixed the edits and spell checked it once more then sent it in.

Just pushed the submit button! Such a good feeling. Now, I just have to:

2) figure out what I'm going to write for Q4

@jason Thank you! Looks like it's working now! Appreciate the help!
Got it in just under the wire. Hadn't planned on submitting this quarter since I am mostly working on a novel. Then this strange compulsion came over me. 12K words in a week, which is a lot, given my schedule. Too long, but as the saying goes, didn't have time to make it shorter. Good luck everyone!
