 Congratulations, everyone! Honorable mention here. Time to keep searching for this story’s home. 

I didn't feel as bad about this rejection for some reason, so the "getting rejected sucks" flag didn't seem to apply. So I made my own...

Sigh. RWC for me. Heading wrong direction, unfortunately. *tired shrug* (couldn’t find the right emoji)

Ugh. I just found out last night that I sent in the wrong version of my story. It was a partial edit completely missing the beginning and several other edits. 

checked my email and just saw that I got an honorable mention. I’m frustrated with myself to say the least. I’m generally so careful. Now I feel like I’ve wasted a quarter.

Knew this story wasn't really my best work, so it's not exactly a surprise, but I'm not sure what it was missing exactly. Spent a lot more time on it than my previous, but never really kindled that same spark... something to investigate this coming quarter.

I'm happy to announce my first rejection! Not feeling too down about it though since it's my first submission. From scrolling through here I see a lot of people entered the contest!

I can't wait to be among those to get Honorable Mention but I got to work for it.

@josephm yeah, don't feel bad. They get 1000s of submissions. Yes, with an S. And that's not an exaggeration. Only an extremely small portion of the submitters participate here.

@undreamedages Thanks. The more I do this contest the more it feels like I won't get an honorable mention. However, it's getting me to write and making me a better writer. Only time will tell.

Congratulations to everyone who entered and received a result, regardless of level.

Keep learning, practicing, and entering. Writing is a muscle, exercise it to exhaustion and it will get stronger.

Good luck to those who are still in.

- It was a resubmit of my first HM. I thought I figured out what was holding the story back, guess not.  Well, time to see if there is another market for this story and/or put it on a shelf and start writing new stuff.

I know the story could be tighten up before sending to somewhere else, but I need more of a break from it before I can do so. I am still learning to actually finish stories, so focusing on my current one to make it as good as I can before end of year.

@storysinger I'm sorry you didn't see the success you were hoping for, but good job on continuing to enter.
