If your name is in your manuscript, it’s disqualified. Same for your email address if it’s recognizably a name. (Be safe: Don’t include your email address.)
If your name is in your file name or your title, it’s disqualified. (Be wary of titles that are names. We might think it’s YOUR name.)
If I as a slush reader suspect I know who the author is, I recuse myself from that story. Another slush reader will review it.
In the unlikely event that ALL slush readers recuse, the story will be passed to Jody without comment.
If Jody knows who the author is, it’s disqualified. Jody is the anonymity gatekeeper and of course the ultimate decider of Finalists. The slush team are here as buffers to help her find good candidates.
If Jody names a Finalist and one of the quarter judges recognizes that story, the judge recuses themself from the quarter, and another quarter judge is selected.
