Congrats Martin and Marina and Tina and Chris and Jeremy and Holly and Sean and Stephen! Hopefully all finalists will show their faces here soon!!

Jeremy,in which part of Texas are you currently residing? I'm not from Texas either but I'm quite happy to be here for the time being - way more writing support (by way of conferences and friends and writers in general) than Idaho!

So I'm still a bit unclear about exactly when the finalists found out - at least the ones that visit the forum. Names and dates, please. wotf007 It's okay to brag a bit.

I also forgot! Martin, I think you get the prize for pushing on to page 101!! (back a few pages) forgot to mention it when it happened...

I got a Finalist. I got a new job starting next week. I got a bunch of new Facebook friends. I got new friends here. I sold a copy of the Lounge today AND a copy of "The Mother Anthony". What more prize could I ask for today?

(Well, an acceptance from Analog, but...)

I want that "Hey! I won and I sold a story at Analog" announcement from you! Then I shall truly call you, Bittler - BIT(tler) = Little Brad In Training

We ran it past some focus groups, and I don't know how to break it to you, but...well, that name doesn't test well.

Oh dear. I need a signature.
And an avatar.
And probably other things I don't even know about.

I feel naked.

Yes, this has been a quarter for strange dreams...

Oh that's three dreams about three finalist! You guys have to win now! I'm guessing all these strange dreams had something to do with the long wait for results this quarter. I even had two dreams after already getting rejected! Yes this quarter was a memorable one.

Yahoooo!! I emerge from under the horrible terrible kindy-virus of 2012 which has laid my household low and find results... real results wow!

Congratulations Holly and Jeremy!

Congratulations Martin! I was deeply suspicious that you were a secret finalist, but I was nowhere near guessing you had known for such a long time. O.O

Congratulations Marina! Such consistency must speak volumes for your future success!

Congratulations Tina! I love the fact that your amazing last-minute submission story has ended up a finalist. You have the story, and you have the meta-story as well!

I am so thrilled for all of you. It has been such a strange quarter that I can completely believe that it is going to end up with first, second and third places going to forumites, with many of those predictive dreams coming true! WOOOO!

Thank heavens for the Internet, is all I can say.

I'd be much, much duller without it. wotf007

I may have to steal that quote someday.

I just sent a letter to Chris Stamp in the UK. Hope I got the right one and *yeah* I googled and found someone!! Hope he comes and joins the party!

A letter? As in, snail mail? People still use that?

I meant an email. Wouldn't that be funny:

Dear Finalist!

Come join us for tea tomorrow at noon.

Signed,

Other Finalist

Except he'd get it a week after the date of the tea.

Heh. Sounds like Bob Writer.

Thanks, Ember! Yeah, towards the end I thought I was getting a bit transparent. That's why the timing of my 2,000th post exile was very helpful. I was having a hard time not exploding.

Thanks, Grayson! Folks, you think I was having a hard time not exploding? Grayson wanted to burst at some of the easter eggs I planted.

I'm hoping for a blog post of results to keep up the energy. I now want to see who got semis, silvers, and HMs!

You might have noticed a distinct increase in Evil Martin sightings since April...

Okay, so it was ONLY Martin that has been dealing with an expanding head for so long. wotf007 No wonder Evil Martin made so many appearances - Martin needed an alter ego just to deal with the pressure!

That's awesome, but that would also SUCK waiting that long!! I'm glad you survived!!

Aah, memories:

Tina Smith wrote:
Found ink in desk (thank you nerdy husband!!) Found paper clip on beloved child's art creation (Thank you beloved child!!)

Then in an effort to get best husband of the year moments before the year's end, my husband runs my entry down to the all night post service.

Still haven't heard if it worked or if the post will say "DEC 31st" And after three rejections it all feels silly to make a big deal over this entry, but I liked it and I believe in it for now. It's the best I could do at this moment in time.

With my first Finalist, I didn't know any of you. I didn't know this forum existed. I found it eventually, but it was all too new. And I didn't understand the contest at all, and I didn't understand what an honor I had already received. Keeping quiet was easy. And I had to keep quiet for all of three weeks.

This time, though, when I knew what it was all about? Two months! TWO MONTHS AND ONE DAY, EVEN!!!!!

Of course, now for me the wait is over. There's a second wait, mind you, but it's not the same. For around a dozen of you, though, the wait is still on. So it's a wonder you haven't all gone Evil on us!

Seems one can only go truly evil when one is harboring very good news.

Currently, I'm harboring NNiNN.
