After hearing of a few notices, I expected an influx of more... a few in the beginning, and then a bunch as the floodgates opened wider. But, apparently, I was wrong... it must have been a false start to the news. Probably a good thing I suppose... running short on time to finish Q3's first draft :/ and shouldn't be be checking the forum so frequently (should actually be focusing on that rather than writing this post even...) Oh, well, it's over now... back to Q3 Smile

New guessomancy = Try to guess what page we'll be on when all results come in (or blog post).

I'm going for: 123

When I hear "space boots," I always think of Star Trek VI.

I keep trying to read that "t" as another b. What that says about me is probably nothing good. wotf002

Without revealing any details, I can now say definitively: they're not done judging yet. But Joni says Real Soon Now.

Any of you Finalists: if you get a call from an Unknown number, be sure to answer it. It may be Joni, and she needs you to help her with the results.

I also just got an email back from Joni from the night I got back from the funeral (day I got the phone call). She said results soon at the end of the email, so my stomach flipped.

I got that today too, Martin. I'm guessing next week now. I was all excited to get a call from that UNKNOWN today, figuring it was her, but the cakes not ready to eat yet. Darn it.

I know, considering the circumstances...I'm thinking another few days at the least.

I got my result today. HM. Just as I suspected (and actually, worse than this story did last time, it was a Silver HM when KD was judging).

Good luck in your future everyone.

Dustin - My condolences on the rejection. I didn't read the whole story, but I don't think it deserved a rejection based on the beginning I read. =(

I'm sure they're there.

Least I'm not waiting (im)patiently to see if it's me.

Yes, I agree. I'm sorry guys. I really thought the ones left were going to get some awesome news. I didn't read everyones, maybe some 450s here and there, but still felt given your past records you'd get higher. Remember you can always edit and fix the things DW talks about in his kicks and resub. It was a crazy quarter.

Ah Janice, my favorite....or really probably Chris Christophersson (SP?) who most likely wrote that song.

Hugs all around... I know the news is harder to take when you've waited so long and hopes have built up. I hope the venting has helped, but I hope you don't lose faith in a seriously awesome opportunity this contest provides.

Keep in mind too, KD was horribly sick. Have you ever tried to read when you were really sick? Have you known anyone with terminal cancer? It blows really sick right out of the freakin water. My dad's battlign cancer right now and he can't do half the things he used to. He doesn't even read the newspaper anymore. You lose focus beyond the not feeling well. Plus imagine the weight of knowing you are dying and reading stories about people dying and perhaps you can't connect with it anymore because you're feeling your own mortality. Maybe KD defaulted to her own sickness and the stories that she couldn't properly judge went into her hold pile for a second reading to give you a fair chance.

This was one quarter, one story. You have time to write more.

Wow, Dawn. That was very elegantly put. I think this is good advice and a way to look at this quarter.

I'm off the crazy pills now, I think. Anyone else get post-submission jitters and attacks of self-doubt?

I tried dodging, I really did. *hangs head in shame*

Smile I'm surprised I don't have more posts like this laying around the forum.

Anyone else get post-submission jitters and attacks of self-doubt?

I do. All the time. It usually goes away after a few days while writing on a new project.

Slow day for posts. My guess would be a lot of people focusing on finalizing their Q3 entries maybe? Of course, probably a more likely explanation is that there is just no news to really discuss. More waiting, here we come... wotf011

That was my guess, too. I *almost* posted that Tina and Martin were awfully quiet, but Tina just posted a response. Martin's been gone a while...
