I've absolutely no idea. I know the treatment of donkeys in the UK (where they're used to give children rides on the beach during summer, among other things) is traditionally terrible, though.

Hooray for donkey sanctuaries!

(I'm still not Bob Writer, no matter what you all may think!)

Ah, true, Martin, but at least we've been informed of where we stand. Everyone else is in no-news land (or, as I like to think of it when I'm there: Nninni-land)

At this point I'm at the level of pure curiosity. . . I mean since it's so obvious I can't win (this quarter!) And I did at one point nudge Joni (gently!) to make sure my piece got in--and who can blame me, given I've had ranking pieces fall off the map--and it had.

All of the SFs, whoever they are, should try to get together and share this vast cornucopia of new knowledge. Or old knowledge. Once the dust has settled.

Ahem. There is a difference between hearing nothing and hearing something. Those you speak of have most definitely heard something, and are waiting to hear something more.

Hrmpf!

Yep, I'm Topanga Canyon. See the Analog submission thread in Writing, for more info. But yeah, it's true. I emailed Dean Wesley Smith and he confirmed, it's me! wotf007
I feel both devastated and elated. Mostly elated. It's like I've had a glimpse into a parallel universe and was able to see what might have been, had I stayed the course. But no, I gave up. Like a marathon runner, I made it all the way the finish line and collapsed. But get this: the editors knew my name! They were talking about me! They were waiting for my next story. Even editors and agents were interested! How cool is that? wotf013
This time, I'm not going to give up.

Commiserations to the recent few, I know what it feels like. wotf014

There can't be too much more left to do for Q1, so I'd expect that results would be out anytime within the next two weeks, unless there's a delay deciding on the winners? (and no I don't know anything, I'm just making some speculative assumptions)
