Gah! The forum keeps eating my posts!

Congratulations to Tina, Marina, and Steve, and commiserations to Martin, Holly, JDBrink and the other finalists.

I'll hold out hope that you'll either win in future quarters, or maybe end up with a published finalist.

I'm so happy for you, Tina, Marina, and Steve!

I believe we need to congratulate Tina's husband for this one as well correct? Wasn't this the entry he zipped to the post office at zero hour? Quite a story!

Yes and won the HOTY award. He feels I need to rave about him in the entire acceptance speech.

Wow, congrats guys.

Congrats Tina, but make sure you get your hubby a plaque which says HotY on it with your winnings.
Also goes to show you can get R after R and still have a shot at winning it all.

Marina, congrats, I know you've been trying for some time, so I'm imagining victory is that much sweeter.

Steven, congrats. I wish I was in your position right now. Alas, it will have to wait for another quarter.

Hopefully I'll make it in for Q-3 or 4 to join you guys at the awards ceremony.

So, last quarter there were 88 HMS, 1 SHM, and 6 Semi-Finalists (unless I miscounted on the HMS).

Isn't that less Semi's than usual?

Wow. I'm stunned (again). Only six semis and one SHM.

SHMs are usually few and far between. I don't recall having seen more than 3 per quarter recently.

As for semis, I think it varies.

Edit: Oh, and obviously huge congratulations to the winners! wotf007

And to the other finalists, as well--getting that far is still a win, so far as I'm concerned.

I think it's cool that Neil Young of California got an HM.

So...

Who wants to go hunt down all the HMists and Semifinalists and force them onto the forum? :p

HA! We all hunted and tracked as many of the finalists we could find. Everybody takes a few names we could get this list chiseled down.

I had my eye on Mark Anthony of England. I don't know why he struck out at me.... Guess I'll have to go google and see if it is a famous name or not and that's why I keep staring at it.

Cleopatra. Also I think possibly the name of a pop singer or something, more recently?

Ahhhhhhhhh! It's finally happened. Results! I don't believe it. Tina, you won First Place. Wow! I am so happy for you! I can't wait to read your story. And Marina, second place! That ain't bad! Congratulations. You're a three-time finalist; you totally deserve to win. And congrats to Steve too. Martin, I was sure I'd see you there, but judging from past experience, I expect to see you there next quarter. This has been an incredible quarter.
And Rainbow Dragon, she's been a semi-finalist before, hasn't she? I remember the name. Kary, so cool to see your name there among the semi-finalists. And I feel in good company on the list of HM'ers. Well, I can't believe it's all finally over. I guess it's on to next quarter. But this is one quarter that's going to stick in my memory a long time.

Tina and Marina: Hope you're writing your acceptance speeches. I expect to be there in person when you're on the stage. And I'm definitely going to have to meet you at the book signing. Woo-hoo!

Major congratulations to the winners! Woo hoo!

This Q has the usual number of HMs, but those were largely dealt out by KD. Semis have numbered 10 since I've been entering, so that's a definite cut. Wonder if it's a permanent change, or if that # has now become variable, like HMs.
