Can we fix it for everybody who has the wrong weather to exchange it back again? Down south about half of Somerset is under water and I need wellington boots to squelch out and walk the dog even this far north! All of the rain that some of you guys don't have has fallen on us.

The Climate Exchange: There were some glitches with the rollout, and I know we said that if you liked your current weather you could keep it, but trust me, the general principle is sound.

Please send California some rain, Ishmael. Rain dances are enforced during lunch at all schools. Still nothing. Heavy clouds, no rain.

Oh, poor Gator. She *is* a gator you know, and like all gators has limited stamina. She's really a short bursts of intense activity followed by long periods of snoozing kind of gal. Maybe you need to employ the services of a different creature. I don't know... That Evil Martin, I bet he can dance with those cool shades.

It's raining in California! According to the Weather Channel (yes, I know their information is 'iffy' at best),
it has already rained a couple inches and 7 ? more is on the way. Take a well-deserved rest, Gator.

wotf003 Will the bananas dance forever since Q1-29 lives forever? wotf015 What have we done!!!!!

Got 0.3 inches here yesterday. My period C chemistry students did a decent rain dance yesterday, but I hope your prediction of 7 inches is true, Isto.

wotf013

That's actually a fantastic idea.

Perhaps we should each commit to writing/publishing a certain number of short stories/novels, etc. and commit to them her for posterity.

Then four years from now, we can get together at some Con and see how we all did.

What do you all think?

Dear Sir,

I am angry, but that is nothing compared to the outrage my wife is currently displaying.

She has smashed all our crockery, she has broken the coffee table in our living room, and from where I am hiding in the cupboard under the stairs I believe she may have started on our bedroom.

Her hob-nailed boots have been stomping up and down the stairs for the past ten minutes. She has uttered oaths and threats such as I have not heard since my basic training. She has booked a flight for the United States and is calling for the heads of all those involved in the contest. Someone needs to contact Joni and Farland, and warn them of what is about to hit them. A tsunami such as never before seen in your colony.

I pray for them. You have no idea what she is like. Let them know. Please, before it's too late.

Yours sincerely,

Brigadier Sir Charles Arthur Strong (Mrs.)

p.s. - Do not fear for me. I have previously survived her rages, but I must admit I have never seen her like this before.

In 2015 WorldCon is in Spokane WA. I've always dreamed of going to Spokane. wotf004 Would we make individual pledges like I'll have my 1500 page trilogy done by then? Or all write a short story entry on a specific theme? (no one take gator vomiting marshmallows. That's mine!) That would drive them crazy ... HEY, a two-fer.

We'd make individual pledges/goals. Pledges would depend on us (i.e., I'm going to complete and submit X short stories, Y novels, Z screenplays, etc.), and goals would depend on things partially out of our control (i.e., sell X short stories, Y novels, and Z screenplays).

This might be jumping the gun a bit, but seeing how a lot of forum members have already turned in their Q4 stories and are working on Q1, I thought I'd start this thread.

For Q1 I'm writing a Fantasy. My last three entries have been more science fiction. I love science fiction, love to read it, but I think I'm not qualified to write it. I just can't get very science-y in my descriptions. I love fantasy too and I think I'll give it a shot. Plus the story is already outlined and some basic first scene attempts have been written.

What does everyone else write? Do you stick to one sub-genre or do you mix it up?

Just for giggles, I went and re-read the first post in this thread.

Man...

Talk about inaccurate forecasting... wotf019

It would appear that Bob and the Mrs. have received Q1 rejections. I will hazard a guess that the light in Bob's cupboard was so dim that he failed to notice he was posting in Q1, V.29 instead of Q1, V31. wotf011
