Ah, it's good to sneak into the WOTF forum every so often and see my favorite thread at the top. Well done, team. Well done.
This is the best thread. EVER.

Gator sneaks in, plonks this brand new cartoon of Herself on the infamous Q1 v.29 thread, then sneaks out again.
Believe me, I wish Gator HAD run! I'm visiting the UK this year and am totally elated. It's been a long time since I've been. Planning on seeing Jude Law in London. Maybe run up to Durham and have some Taylor's tea along the way.
I haven't checked in for awhile, but was delighted to see this thread still hanging in there.
I've had an identity crisis... trying to distinguish between speculative fiction definitions and discover where I belong. Ishmael got me thinking. Some say spec fic is just another name for SciFi and Fantasy. Others say it's another animal altogether... less about the way SciFi affects the world and more about how people react to the technology, etc. I'll be submitting here again when I have a story that I think will fit.

First off, Congratulations! The entire thing looks rather BIG. I've heard that the winners are treated like royalty.
Second. What happens when this thread reaches 5000? We're not that far off. Something HAS to happen. Maybe a reunion of sorts?

We're getting so close now I keep expecting to log in one day and find that a group of posts were made overnight and I didn't get to have a chance to make post #5000.

I can see it now, Mr. or Mrs., or miss, or, you all know what I mean. To go down in history as THE ONE, the 5000th poster.
Seeing the word thread reminds me of Anne McCaffrey's Pern novels.
How about it newbies, here's your chance to contribute to the thread that won't die.

I was surprised this thread hadn't topped 5000 already. I have a question that may top it out in an appropriate manner. How many who submitted in Q1-29 have become finalists? I think it may be a lot. Some great writers in this group.

Sounds good. I do believe this last quarter has left me with an expanded version of the emoticon story that ended up in my signature.

I've read some interesting books that were written well enough to keep me interested and engaged.
But good books? Um... hm. I guess we need to define what constitutes a "good book", right?

Pretty impressive list. I'd love a long string of Rs, myself. Or a long string of anything. Maybe I'll put my stats in, with my grand total of two results... But I feel the pressure to find some kind of inspirational quote first to balance it out.

There's some pretty impressive signatures here. Mine is certainly no John Hancock, but I'd love to get there. Submit submit submit!!!
