Come on, where's the speculation and the finger pointing? Nothing but mild hints of suspicion?

Is it one dollar beer night at the local Evil Persona bar?

I was going to announce my finalist phone call, but they told me not to. wotf017

Edit: Wait. CRAP! Where's the delete button on this thing!?

And now we speculate whether you actually got one or not wotf006

I'm not saying I did or did not, but I'm also not saying that Bobwriter (who I'm not going to say or not say is or is not my close friend) did or did not get one, either.

Dear Sir,

I've nothing against donkeys, in fact back in good old WW2 I rode one through the streets of Paris when it was liberated. Couldn't walk for weeks. Like that old nag, this young chap probably has a bony back as well.

But I've never met this man. You want to be a writer, do you son? Don't go around trying to build any credibility based on a non-existent association with me. Especially when you can't even spell my name correctly.

Yours sincerely,

Brigadier Sir Charles Arthur Strong (Mrs.)

p.s. - If he was to meet me in the local and buy me a few pints of Old Speckled Hen, then I'd be happy to say I know him. I'd even pass on a few tips.

I think anyone who may have been called is keeping quiet, and I think everyone else is assuming that no one will be called until, at earliest, tomorrow but perhaps not until next Thursday.

Tomorrow? On Father's Day?

Uhhh. Okay. I guess that's a holiday. It's not like Thanksgiving or Christmas or even Memorial Day where everything shuts down. Do you international folks even celebrate Father's Day? And is it on the same day as in the States?

I mean, I have a stack of Father's Day cards with a two year old's hand-print painted in them, waiting to be passed out during a nice Father's Day lunch, but the rest of my life will function otherwise unaffected by the day. wotf017

't ain't me, though. As the man says, I don't have the slightest reason to refer to him as friend. wotf014

p.s. Brigadier Sir Charles Arthur Strong (Mrs.): I am a teetotaler, alas, but will forward you the funds to buy a pint. I have extracted your exact location from your internet message and you should expect a letter in the next 2 to 3 years, allowing for reasonable regional variation of the post.

Eh? After almost seven months? Well, maybe. If I recall, it's not unusual for the formal announcement to come out a good long while after the news has spread around. Like weeks or months after all the finalists have been called. Which, unfortunately, leaves people whose responses got lost, in the dark unnecessarily.

But if dudeman has posted on his Blog that he's a finalist, that could mean Joni didn't instruct him to be silent . . . So maybe she's called everyone?

Although... if we're into gratuitous post inflation, I will point out that right down there in my sig file is a free book. Not even by me! It's by a very famous sleep and dream researcher, and it talks about personality, dreams and behavior.

*swings shiny pocket watch*

You will download the book.

You will tell your friends.

These are not the droids you're looking for.

*snaps her fingers*

So as I was saying (download the book), I don't think 100 pages will be hard (download the book) at all.

Subliminal messages brought to you by the letter A and the number 7.

Oh. Riiiight. Tina is banned from this forum, along with Martin.

Apparently, all Finalists received their phone call as of last night (Saturday). Congratulations to the Finalists!

I can't remember if that was posted on here or not yet, so thought I'd say something. Tina and Martin being notably absent. *wonders what happened to the rest of the duct tape*

Hmm....It's all beginning to make sense now...

Tina and Martin are MIA right around the time the rumors of finalists are floating about. And no one has seen Annie in a while...

Very Interesting. Very interesting indeed. wotf007
