Dear the Writers of the Future,
I have a question about publications.
1. Before sending your script to the publisher, is it correct to publish online a few chapters?
2. Is it possible to send to the potential publisher just your idea and after accepting their interest to start to write the book?
My pleasure for your answers.
Respect and Honor,
Alexandra Miracle
1. I wouldn't - I've seen info from open submission windows that clearly said it would disqualify the book to have any of it published online - so doing so almost certainly reduces your potential market options.
2. Pretty sure that is only done with non-fiction. Unless a fiction publisher made a specific request for something else you should have a complete and as polished as you can make it manuscript.

@czing thank you for your answer. Because I have published a few chapters of my script online for sending to filmmakers)

I don't know if the rules are different for scripts - might be much less concern about something being partially posted online. Also may be different in terms of having a completed product ready to go - I really have no idea about that - my answers were really about books and mostly about fiction.
