I, for the first time, met with an Editor. It was WoTF winner Andy Dibble.
I hired him through the KickStarter for Strange Wars and Strange Religion. It was a great deal, because the fund amount requested is in Canadian funds! lol
We agreed on a lot and disagreed just a little. It was a great experience!
He wanted me to make my strange religion and characters even more strange, which I love. It excites my imagination.
Once I finish fixing my story, it will be submitted to their anthology.
I highly recommend meeting with editors. It really helps you understand how a story fits together and what a publisher looks for.

Having worked with Apex Magazine for the past year as a slush reader, I agree. Seeing how the editor, Jason Sizemore, talks about and chooses stories has been really helpful.
