The Annual Awards Ceremony
A Hollywood Gala
A Hollywood Gala
After the writer and illustrator winners have spent an intensive week learning the ropes from well-established writers, artists and respected professionals in the publishing world, the Writers and Illustrators of the Future experience culminates in the gala Awards ceremony.
Produced as a professional event of the highest caliber, the Writers and Illustrators of the Future Awards ceremony is truly the equivalent of the Academy Awards for science fiction and fantasy.
Preparations for the event are meticulously orchestrated. In the days leading up to it, the winners are fitted for their tuxedos or gowns. The night before the ceremony, everyone participates in rehearsals. Even the judges attend a detailed run-through, finding their marks, practicing their lines and preparing so that the annual Awards ceremony will go off without a hitch.
